Still, he admitted his mistake. You'll never see Galliani do that. He'll be like: "Oh Yepes? Yeah, Yepes, well Yepes can play well....at times....and I think he's really starting to form something important with Mexes....Yeah...."
Would you rather want Marotta, Galliani or Branca as GM of Juventus?
Of the top three clubs in Italy, we have the best GM, no? Which, ought to make him, the best in the country? No?
Who do you want instead? Name him. Is it someone from abroad?
Marotta is not fault-free, but he's a fucking blessing for this club, and it irritates me that people want perfection in the transfer market when there's no such thing. The conditions are very difficult for italian clubs at the moment..
I just want to see him seal the deal for at least one of his soon comming WC forwards, for once in 3 years i want him to get exactly what he and us were after.
So that would explain why you are such a big P1 of Marotta. The scope of your objectives/goals does not exceed Italy.
Fair enough because I cannot criticize you for your opinion. But that is where his supporters and detractors are defined. There is Italy and then there is Italy and beyond.
So i should not expect us to do well in CL ever again? Why not just skip playing it then, rest most of the squad for Serie A.
We have been struggling in CL post calciopoli, dont know about you but i'd like us to go back to winning there as well.
I'm not crazy mad at Marotta, i appreciate what he has managed to do so far. Does not change the fact that he failed to do the one single thing that we were out to solve for the past 4 mercatos, one single thing he himself has been chasing like a mad dog.

Don't take my words as not WANTING to get back to winning in the CL. There's nothing that would please me more. But italian football is struggling right now, and I'm just calling out for people to realize just what that means. I'm not saying we should give up the fight, but going all "lynch mode" just because our GM can't land us Aguero or Dzeko right now is just too silly at present.
Your preception of reality is sad if you think Italy is the only achievable pinnacle for this club. Italian football blows and by implying that being king of the mountain suffices your expectations and desires then you are explicitly implying that you don't expect much from this club.
Yes, exactly, just as there is realism and beyond...

That's what you said, your argument about CL and how you said it was poor and anyone who reads that would take the exact same meaning that i took.
Tell me, were Aguero and Dzeko not realistic targets for us? Fvck what state Italian Football is in coz this is about us and what state we are in, and it is/was miles better than any other italian club. I admit Rvp or Cavani or Jojo were not realistic but Marotta screwed up the Aguero and Dzeko deals when we almost had it. That's my one and only problem with Marotta.

But we must continue fighting, and yes, I do want us to return to being the champions of Europe. I just don't think it's a realistic expectation right now.

Hard to call... What I know is that they were very difficult targets, who were both priced away from us by super-rich Manchester City. We can't compete with them financially right now (or then), so I don't see how that's Marotta's fault.

So, was Brance the best GM in Italy when Inter was winning the scudetti season after season? Or was it because Mourinho was on the bench?
Similarly, a lot of those variables apply to juve at the current time. Just because Juve won the title doesn't mean Marrotta is the best GM in Italy. I think for eg., Fiorentina have done a fabulous job this season and they're not gonna win the league either. You have to see the amount of money we have spent in the past three seasons to really understand Marrotta's ability and capacity. His ability to get rid of the deadwood, sell above value, or buy below it. He is doing all right at Juve but ive said it before and have no qualms about saying it again, Conte is making him look really good. Truth be told, he's average, and anybody having Conte as coach could've done the job Beppe is doing. Not very hard for example,to buy Asamoah or Isla the value that the selling club wants. The best director in Italy would've been able to fill a void he created in the first place, over a period of three years.
So for me, we cant look at it in such unidimensional fashion.
