Our attack is the very best by Serie A standards.
In terms of goals scored, yes. In terms of individual quality, hell no. Our 19 goals have been scored by 12 different players, which shows you that we lack a clinical player to lead our attack. With the exception of Vucinic, none of our strikers can make a difference or deserves a starting jersey.

Matri is one of those 12, so please show the man some respect.

:D

Matri, the best striker the world has ever seen. Falcao who? Cavani what? Ibra? :howler:

Matri is the man! If he can't score, then no one can :p
Our BOD has done themselves well by not selling him to Milan. Strengthening them would have been a huge mistake. No coincedence we have the strongest offense in the league yet again.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Exactly

We need to balance the books and tirelessly pursue solid players like Berbatov, Pazzini, Montolivio and Palombo.

Not even that.

One might be inclined to argue proven, as well, which all the names you mentioned are.

Euhm, this is Agnelli, not Marotta.

And here's the original interview FI messed up: http://www.lastampa.it/2012/06/01/s...-champions-7LvEUa2tkRAmt7RZEB33CK/pagina.html

If you read this, you'll notice that the tone is quite different:
* NOT we will sign a top player, but we'll have a look & if possible we'll sign a top player (which had been useless the previous years).
* the CL winning "objective" is also not mentioned as a priority, not at all. Of course Agnelli wants to win it. Who doesn't?

I never denied this particular interview was Agnelli's in response to Raz asking me to show him where either one of Agnelli or Beppe said anything related to winning the CL as an objective. It's amazing that you'd still debate this. First you say he says it isn't an objective and then go on to say he wants to win it. It's not a whim to want to win the CL. You know what you need, in order to have a realistic a shot at winning it all. AA amd Marrotta both know it, and when ey say something like this they have to say it with a certain responsibility. If it's so obvious we want to win the CL, maybe it should not be spoken of in immediate terms because we didn't need this years opening games to show us that we are not ready. The aerie a is never going to be the right measure of where we stand in Europe.

Marotta defends Juve transfer policy
Juventus director general Beppe Marotta has defended his actions on the transfer market for the Old Lady.

Marotta’s moves were placed into doubt by some of the club’s shareholders on Friday morning, but he’s hit back.

“It’s true, errors have been made,” he noted. “Jorge Martinez [signed for €12m from Catania], above all, but you only make mistakes when you actually buy.

“Over the last two years we have had to oversee, not a revolution, but a significant rejuvenation. We’ve signed 22 players and you can get a few signings wrong.

“But don’t forget about the ones we got right, like Andrea Pirlo on a free, Paul Pogba and Arturo Vidal – a player we signed for €10m and one for whom we rejected an offer of €30m.

“We turned that down because Juventus are not a selling club.”

Marotta also insisted that Juve made the right decision in agreeing to sell Ciro Immobile to Genoa in a co-ownership.

“In order to get the best out of youngsters, you have to give other clubs an incentive to do that,” he continued. “Simple loan moves often don’t work in the same way.

“Look at Sebastian Giovinco. We sold a half share in him for €4m to Parma and we signed him back for €11m – now he is a €15m player.”

The former Sampdoria official also revealed the truth behind Juventus’ apparent attempt to hijack Fiorentina’s deal for Dimitar Berbatov in the summer.

“We contacted the player and he told us that he would never join Fiorentina,” Marotta claimed. “He said he just had to decide between us and Fulham, who were bossed by his former Coach Martin Jol.

“Fiorentina keep attacking us, but the truth is that we helped them to not look foolish.”
And Milan is :seven:

Still, he admitted his mistake. You'll never see Galliani do that. He'll be like: "Oh Yepes? Yeah, Yepes, well Yepes can play well....at times....and I think he's really starting to form something important with Mexes....Yeah...."
