Should i list the players the players signed by Galliani and the trophies he won with Milan. Two bad years when Berlu don't want to invest anymore isn't a barometer to conclude that Marotta is better.
The situation they're in now is more a result of mismanagement than lack of investment from Berlu.

Anyway, Marotta's only here 2 years now so we can't really compare based on their achievements/failures; we'll have to wait and see for that. So whoever you think is better can only be a belief.

Let's not get it twisted here. This is not about Gallani vs Marotta.

The fire that would start from this topic would be a complete waste of time because it would be comparing horse shit with donkey shit. And then we will have supporters of each type.

I don't know about how much Milan actual situation is due to mismanagement rather than lack of investement.

But i agree with you that for Marotta the Jury is still out tcause he's only been at helm of top club for only 2 years, that's why saying that Marotta is better than Galliani is absurd because the latter has much better resume.

You're right.

Not better, just longer.

People really thinks that Marotta is better than Gallianni :howler:
He can't be.

But truth to be told, men like Galliani and Moggi were around when Italian football had more money than anyone else. They were buying from the best because they had the funds for that. Exactly in those times they made the connections around Europe and the world.
Marotta doesn't have that experience and that's a huge handicap for him.

Essentially, it's about money. Just look at Galliani without money.

Galliani is a big reason why Milan are where they are today.

Instead of rebuilding and focusing on the youth, he spent the money on the likes of Zlatan, Boateng and Robinho and sending Milan to a further hellhole.

And how we lost Verratti too. The deal fell thru when Buoy refused to move, and failing which Beppe refused to pay an extra million and a half. By which time, PsG came in with a crazy offer.

I don't know who it was with the argument but they did make a good point, we had Aguero and the deal was less than a couple of millions away.
These kind of quotes are my favourite.

Society members, where are you at?

I can't do 4 or 5 of these people at once

Jay? B_Aus? Anyone? :D
Sorry buddy, it was a long day yesterday. Busy at work came straight home and slept like a baby. But Im here.

Perhaps we should bring back Secco. Maybe the Marotta haters will learn to appreciate the great mans work more.

Best GM in Italy right now (in terms of signing players and cost cutting) and wouldn't trade him for any of the other shmucks in circulation.

Galliani? Branca? Bigon? :howler:

Again, its like asking someone if they would rather be shot in the face or burned alive.

Both options blow

But then here comes disciples of "the great man" saying that getting burned alive is not so bad compared getting shot in the face :sergio:

The logic here I tell you is of people who accept mediocrity and settle for things instead of aiming high and setting the bar even higher. That is what champions do.

Winning a Scudetto (undefeated), making the Coppa Italia final and automatically qualifying for the CL is like getting burnt alive? And probably repeating these feats (maybe even more) this season?

Well then take out the blowtorch son, lets get this shit crackin!

Galliani has his merits and there's no denying that he used to be the "top dog". But conditions in Italy have changed, and his methods seems to work against him now. He's only chasing the "names" (Van Bommel / Mexes types of players), and not really thinking about the technical requirements of the squad (each individual place, position by position on the field).... Marotta is a kind of GM who does that, and let me tell you, it's exactly what we need right now with these conditions.
I'm sorry Marrotta does what now?! This is so over the top in defense of Marrotta. If he was the type of GM who thought tactically, amd bought players according to individual places, and positions on the field, then please tell me how he hired Del Neri, a coach who plays a 442, and didn't buy neither fullbacks nor a left winger. Only Krasic for the right. Even when Conte came, he was clear what characteristics he wanted for his formation. He admitted to working closely with the board and having their backing, coz they themselves didnt know their ass from their elbow at the time. A large part of Conte's thinking has filtered onto Marrotta's approach in the market. Please do not be fooled into thinking his ability is more than it is, coz if that was the case, Conte wouldn't even have been here, had we not finished 7th in the season before last.
