Brilliant post Baggio, I try to reserve my judgement on things like this because we are not privy to all that goes on in these deals but it's plainly obvious that he's been far too stingy and left it until the last minute. And on such an important purchase it reeks on incompetency, he should go.

Well, he obviously wanted other strikers ahead of Bendtner, but he just couldn't get them. How much he's at fault for it, is tough to say really (City not selling Dzeko, Llorente being held in the Bilbao prison dungeons by Urrutia, Berbatov's wife not wanting to move from England, Jovetic costing 30 million which we don't have, etc.).

Calling for his head, though, is simply laughable. He's built us a very good squad. It just lacks the icing on the cake, a top striker.

spent over 50M now I would say.
Gio, Isla & Asamoah transfer expenses aside, I would love to know how much money was spent on those lesser deals involving youth players and those purchased only to be sent out on loan. My guess is that the total would have amounted to a decent sum that could have gone towards a top striker.

He probably meant in a way that other positions are more important, since we did spend big there. He probably wanted a back up only.

Pathetic.
:agree: I wonder is he aware that 10 goals being the most any of your strikers scored of their own accord is not sufficient in any major league. The more I think about that quote ''a striker isn't our priority'' the madder I get, how can he be so ignorant

That goes without saying, in terms of his mindset, we have clearly prioritised building up quality squad depth.

I don't have a problem with that, but a good CF is still important. It was not impossible to do both.
At this point signing Isla was not needed at all. We had Licht and Caceres there.

I do love Isla, but at least we'd have money for a striker. This is just retarded.

I have lost all respect foe him this is pathetic. We have known for 2 years that we needed a striker and a Lb. All his other moves look pointless now the team is unbalanced. Sack.

If we don't reach atleast the quarterfinals in CL and win the scudetto his position must be evaluated. IF there are sporting directors that could be capable of being better than him we have to consider it. Not signing Berbatov or at the very minimum a player of Pazzini's caliber can have a devastating effect on our season.

Frankly I am afraid we'll lose too much points against the minows with Vucinic as our best striker. Inter has the attack and desire to be a serious threat in Serie A.
