Lichtsteiner is incredibly enough the first decent fullback we buy since Balzaretti in 2005. And if you don't rate him or Zebina that much, then it's probably Chiellini before that. And if you don't count Chiellini as a fullback, then I can't recall any other fullback purchase that turned out any good this decade. Zambrotta joined 1999 and wasn't even a fullback.

Someone please refresh my memory. Have we bought any decent fullbacks in the past ten years?

Yes i do.They are more expirienced and proven players in the league.
Ziegler is not a bad defender.while Pazienza was fine for Napoli.

Well Marotta I have to give you the biggest applause ever. WELL DONE! you again neglected to purchase players in positions we needed reinforcement. All Summer after our first couple of pre season games you said we needed a CB and yet you go and sign 3 wingers 2 youth players and loaned out 1 very promising winger but yet no CB well done well done!

Agreed im glad he didnt panic buy but the fact he left it for so long when he knew and publicly stated it that we need a CB. If the person actually says we need a cb I dont understand why he would leave it for sooo long. Whatever its done now Lets hope we can have a good run this winter and hopefully in January we can sign Rhodolfo and a LB.
