4-3-3 giovinco on left krasic on right and toni or iaqunita in middle that would result in some goals... our center foward would get a lot of balls into that middle...

honestly, it sounds so easy to say but who knows what goes through DN's mind.
You think a formation with Amauri or Iaquinta as the lone striker guarantees goals?

Frankly, my main argument with Marotta is if we have little cash, than y has our strategy on the market not reflected this? Yes we opted for the loan with option to buy, but these options were still very expensive, and with the exception of Aquilani and Quag, none of of the others are worth it. Also, even though the purchase price of Toni and Barzagli was very low, they are both on high wages.

If we look at our main threats for CL qualification (Napoli, Lazio, Palermo), they are taking chances on promising players, and searching for quality bargains. We should adopt a similar strategy but fine tune it to reflect our greater spending power, which even under our currently tight purse strings, still leaves us with more to spend than the above 3 mentioned teams.

We are wasting space atm by giving shit players on high wages playing time. Why not fill their spots with lesser known players or promising youngsters? Seriously, what do we have to lose? Yes it is a gamble that can backfire, but how is this any different than what we have experienced the past 2 seasons? Would it kill us to play some unknown South American at fb given the lack of quality we currently put up with? If they turn out to be useless, well at least they are not a financial burden, which cant be said for the shit players who fill those exact same squad positions.

Piazon is a step in the right direction, but he is the exception to our current strategy. I want to see more players from Eastern Europe, South America and from lesser leagues, the breeding grounds for what has allowed our direct CL competition to surpass us in quality.

Didn't suck for half a season.
We always sucked at defence, the reason we had a good first half coz our midfield and quag were able to score goals to make up with the defence leaking goals.

We lost quag and on the top of that we gained amauri, goals stopped and motta had his time of the month[year].

never mentioned amauri he can sit on the bench the rest of the season.... as for the lone striker position Toni > Iaquinta...

i know our flaw is a killer striker but i see a 4-3-3 working better then a 4-4-2(and if it does excell or doesn't i got to admit i am tired of the 4-4-2.. i don't think there is a TOP EUROPEAN side who plays this old man formation)... marchiso is playing a mezza'la role where he dips in the middle while Grosso is suppose balance Krasic in attacking the ball.. Krasic can't defend so why waste him always coming back .... have krasic be on the wing focusing on the attack as well as giovinco... but this is merely won't happen due to DN stubborness in changing formation and IF giovinco comes back

Apparently he is planning his own 5 year project for the club, which essentially implies we have taken massive strides in the wrong direction.

How many more 5 year projects are we going to have to endure? We were supposed to be back and competing for honors by now.

Im tired of this word "Project" seriously when did Juventus become a project organization? If you want a project go to Serie B. We lost another potential target in Suarez today and we lost Pazzini to Inter who we have been chasing for 2 years now, like its mind boggling those word he said still keep going through my head with no understanding at all. "Their are no players in the market that can improve our current squad'. Really? Suarez or Pazzini couldnt do any better then Martinez, Iaquinta and Amauri? But yet Toni can?

Welcome to the forum and i totally agree with what your saying.

Last season it was evident to most of us that a 4-2-3-1 would work well (and it was great against Sampdoria) yet we abounded that formation for the shit/crap 4-4-2 formation which resulted at the end of us out of the CL.

I'm not against delneri and i don't think a simple formation will change everything yet a 4-3-3 formation looks more realistic for the kind of players that we have right now. Even without Giovinco, with someone who naturally play in that formation (martinez) this seems to be the more realistic thing to do.

I honestly hate that mentality in coaches who refuse to be flexible and insist on 1 formation no matter what team they're coaching and no matter what players they have !!

One of the reasons IMO someone like benitez failed with Inter and leanardo is doing really great is that flexibility that leanardo have and Benitez lack.

5, but anyway the defense as a unit worked well after the first few games where scored and conceded as much. It was only individual mistakes that led to the goals.
To me a defence that only keeps 5 clean sheets in over 20 games is not a defence that works well as a unit. It's not even really a defence in my book...

The difference in the first half of the season was that we could actually pose our opposition some form of threat, so we didn't spend the entire game sitting in our own half hoofing long balls up to the incompetent Amauri. The lack of mobility of our attack right know means we pose 0 threat, and surrender possession instantly. Del Piero as much as I love him is no longer the player he was, you can see his mind is working but his body isn't reacting as it should do, everytime he gets the ball our play goes into slow motion. Amauri is literally the Oxford dictionary's definition for "useless", whoever signed this guy to a professional contract during his youth should be shot.

Now that our attack is toothless our defence is exposed for the shower of shit that it actually is. It's crazy to argue any differently

The word 'project' is overused, every club has it's own targets and means to achieve.

Inter had a 17 year project, however they ended up taking an illegal route to accomplish it.

Yeah, and we've had 3 different projects in 5 years since Calciopoli.

Incompetent people fail, we hope competent people come, take over their assets, reorganize and succeed.

Secco failed earlier. only Marotta has a lot to prove if he's competent or not.
