I'm worried that the board might have devoted to much time on Dzeko and other failed targets and will have to sign who ever is available when they realize that we are short on players and time.

And we will probably end up giving more mediocre players ridiculous contracts because we haven't got the time to negotiate.

Selling Poulsen doesn't solve problems. It creates them. We now have to spend more capital on another CM while we have several positions on the wing needing to be revamped.

Tacchinardi, Sousa, Ferrara, Deschamps, what a legend Moggi is  :D
Sousa only played for 2 years at Juventus. Aside from that, since I really can't consider that a resounding success like the other 3, that gave him a 30% success rate on his first transfer campaign,at a time when Juve had a lot more moeny to spend.

I don't know, maybe its just me, but I'm willing to give him until the end of the transfer campaign, or gee, I don't know, his first full season in charge to see how he fares?

He's trying to clean up a mess with all of these bloated contracts for under acheiving players, but last I checked, it takes 2 teams to Transfer Tango.

I think at this point we are forced into selling Poulsen because of how much he earns.

I know this constantly brought up but I can't think of another reason that we would sell him with all of the problems it will cause.

If that is the only reason, then that is disappointing. Contracts can be restructured. It happens all the time. He's made a pretty penny here the last 2 years. Del Piero, Trez, et al have all taken less money when their contracts have been renewed.

I would be very disappointed in both sides if the contract was the main issue

I'm willing to give Marotta a chance because I'm not fully aware of his abilities, unlike Del Neri who is known crap.

It's just that thus far, I haven't been impressed.

Folks make it sound like Poulsen earns 25M Euros a year.

These are overhead costs. We may sell Poulsen and buy two more players who earn 2M a year, thus adding more to our wage budget than previously with the Dane.

We still have about 524 hours to negotiate. Relax.

What other reason would they want to takes us down to three CMs this close to the season starting when we already need other players?

Well I can't tell you what the board is planning to do with his wages but it seems like his contract is the reason they want to get rid of him.

Selling Poulsen is out of desperation to sell, we have to sell but we are selling the wrong player. We are not able to sign because of many reasons and we are blaming the big squad and the wages for that.

I am not going to judge Marotta or anyone yet but I am still not convinced.

This feels like a combination of fails most of all from our board.

The previous management handed Poulsen a very large contract and brought him in to play a role that he doesn't play, and the current management is handling the situation in a poor way.

It's a good argument . But I don't mind him leaving, if we get some quality in return (unlikely too happen).

So if you think it's unlikely to happen why don't you mind him leaving? Right because he's the only scapegoat on the team with high wages.
