No, not really. But why openly name Tevez in an interview and say it's possible and then bring some disgusting player in? He needs go learn how to communicatie the truth ffs.
FFS indeed, he gets asked about these players. What part of this is hard to understand?

Which disgusting player has he brought in?

I think people are looking for more of an independent transfer director, like Secco was in the past, but a less useless version.

The model Juve have now is one thing, but Marotta being on the BOD adds to how it is enforced. He's not going to kick up a fuss and go to the board asking for more money like maybe a PL manager could, or a typical Serie A sporting director, because he is directly involved on the money side and knows the budget and model.

Still, that doesn't protect him from criticism in moves, these guys live and die by the players they sign. What I don't agree with is criticising for moves that are either very difficult or unrealistic.

I'd much rather we have a team with sustained success and competitiveness over a long period than going all in for short term success. Maybe others see differently. Maybe the Milan model is better.

These guys know what we can sustain, and we can get quality with our model, we've done it already.

I don't see how we can spend 40-80m in the last 2-3 transfer windows and yet somehow we don't have 20-30m + 5-10m wages to spend on one top player now when we really only need one player (besides Llorente).

The squad is 90% built...

and that's a good thing, considering we should be increasing revenue in the coming years, with possible help from the top player to go further in the CL and win more consecutive scudetti.

I expect a strong forward to come in this summer, so we look pretty on schedule. We've got quite a few players to move around as well, those on our books and the loans/co-owns.

I suppose it depends what your expectations are. If by now it's expected that we would have a team able to challenge for the CL I'd have to disagree, but we are progressing faster than could have hoped.

I said before I think we had the €30m to put down on Jovetic and €5m salary, I believe that was our late offer for him. €50m over four years, which is the bare minimum for a good forward of prime age.

We don't just evaluate the player but also the economic side. We refused to pay the large fee for Van Persie with a year left, and I'm sure we didn't get close to matching his salary there. He's costing United around €80m over his contract. It's also why I don't see us going above a certain price for Tevez, with his salary in mind.

If Higuain or Jovetic cost around that €50m mark I believe we have the resources for that, with the CL income in mind. I know Agnelli says they don't factor it in, but we have that for this season and it gives us a bit more tolerance.

I expect a proper forward line, something like Llorente-Tevez/Jovetic/Higuain etc

Then it shouldn't be too much to expect us to sign someone like that. Even Tevez would cost that with the high wage, I don't know what the tax rate is, but I'll say 9m overall for wages x 4 years + 15m transfer fee = 51m

It's easy to forget we signed Llorente, which was an impressive move. I know he wanted to join us and all, I expect he was a Juventus fan as a child and can't wait to play in the mighty Serie A.

I suspect they won't pay €50m for Tevez because of his short contract. They'll see a better economic deal in Higuain or Jovetic because of their ages, contract lengths, sell on value, maybe even because of Tevez's City stunt. I'm basing that on our previous strategy, anyway.
