I'll continue to treat it for what it is: a rumour.
And how many "confirmed" rumours have there been over the years that turned out to be incorrect?

As for how I personally feel about that rumour: not true. If you look at how we operated these last 3 years & think about it logically, then how much chance is there that we indeed offered 30m?
15m + another player? 5m for a loan + 12m for the right to buy + a player? 12m for a co-own? All "reasonable" ideas to come up with. 30m in cash? Not so much.

On a somewhat related note: I'd very much like to see Jovetic at Juve. At the right cost :D
But seeing as we'd lost out on the RvP deal for which we were in the running, and the rumour that this offer was made at the last minute, you could say we panicked and didn't want to lose out on plan B in the same month. While doing it at the last minute, it's very unlikely going to happen on your terms. The reason I choose to believe the rumor is because we had a lot going for us, and as champs of italy, we really needed to plug two positions, LwB and forward. I could see us having that kind of money, for somebody whose wages we could afford.

That's fair enough. Everyone has their own opinion. I'm just saying rumours shouldn't be treated as facts, something which seems to happen on a daily basis.

I don't disagree with you. But technically that'll always be a thin line and hard to segregate because nobody works for the club or knows the internal happenings. Nothing can ever be proven as 'fact' by any of us because of lack of first hand evidence, but that shouldnt mean certain conditions cant or dont exist. As a fan, you'll always read articles, DS comments, player interviews and make your mind up and decide according to working patterns which side of the truth you're on. :)

RuS, if the board don't give him money for RvP then how come we had agreed/come close to agreeing personal terms with the player, who would surely break our wage cap? It's not about Marrotta sucking. It's about Juve being blamed for Marrotta's failures whenever they have happened.

If Juve agreed personal terms, but couldn't reach an agreement with Arsenal over how much to pay...I don't think Marotta can be blamed, can he?
