Which means we would have paid 7 million for a player who was 100% ours before all this! so we would be down 7 miliion. Turk is right, how are you not getting that?
He wouldn't have been this good had he stayed because he wouldn't have played. Why is this? It is because Giovinco was and still is and unproven provincial level player and anybody who values him at €20M is smoking some serious crack. He's a very good player, he needs to step up to a top club and show what he can do, because right now, he's as impressive as DiVaio or any other medium fish in a minuscule pond.

Giovinco will only be worth €20m after and not before he plays a full season for Contentus.

How are you not getting that those are, essentially, two different players. had he stayed with us, sure, we wouldnt have to pay anything but we'd have a usseless (not really, but for the sake of argument) player (a Palladino) so the fact that we saved 7 mil € wouldnt meant all that much when we would have to spend twice as much to sign a player of his quality today.

Basically, we are paying 7 (or 10 or whatever) mil € for his development and for getting a quality player, rather than signing one for 15 mil €.

Marotta has done well, thus far, in this transfer window. However, the CF signing will determine whether he is actually a top notch director, or just a guy who can get us decent quality/talent from our own league.

A signing of Higuain/RVP or some other WC forward will vindicate and redeem him of his previous failings. However, a Dzeko or Lewnadowski as our main/star signing will leave a lot to be desired and disappoint (unless it's accompanied by a Suarez/JoJo).

Agree with this, although I dont think Dzeko would be a dissapointing signing.

no, we payed 7 million to make a failed talent giovinco into a proper serie a player giovinco. you can not compare a past player with the present player.

He most definitely would be, if he's the only reinforcement in attack. I have higher expectations. Dzeko + Suarez/JoJo would be awesome/amazing, but Dzeko on his own (as our star signing, and in a year when we have CL) would definitely be a letdown.

He didn't even mention a replacement for Pepe, must have taken a knock on the head this morning or something.
:klin: :D You know it's naturally implied :p

But it was who made him a failed talent in the first place.
We chose the worst possible moment to sell his half for peanuts and now we are regretting this.
As i have been saying since the very day this pitiful deal was signed...

I wonder why no one else paid 'peanuts' for him and it was left to Parma. I guess it was because he was worth a whole lot more and those clubs didn't want to do Juventus a disservice by signing him so cheaply.
