He hasn't done anything phenomenal. Right now he needs to make sure that the pieces he's adding supplement and improve the the championship squad. We can't take a step back next season like we did in 2009.

:agree: He has done very well thus far, but now it's time to prove he can get us the big names, and go beyond merely padding the squad with depth (albeit very good depth in the cases of Asamoah, Isla, and Giovinco).

If he can get us an RVP/Higuain/Cavani, and an option on JoJo for next season (we need to see how he performs over the course of an entire season, and how his knee holds up) I'd be ecstatic :D

Exactly... Marotta has been great so far now he needs to step up a gear and show us he can sign world class players once he does that then we know we have the right man for the job.

Lets talk about all the weird average signings from Italy that always confuse us and the plethora of young and highly talented players arriving for the primavera. Do you guys think that in fact they are not meant to actually contribute to the squad on the pitch but more help the team in potential transfer deals as bargain chip? I feel like plenty of the young highly rated players and the serviceable Italians in for example Pazienza always end up getting traded and used in a deal when we're getting good players who'll actually improve the squad like Isla, Asamoah, Giovinco, Verratti and the potential Destro deal?

That fella Marotta is revolutionizing the art of signing players. We are not worthy..
