The fact people are rating the mercato at the beginning of the season makes me laugh. All of these so called "shit" signings could turn out better than a lot of you are predicting.

I prefer to rate how these transfers fare, you know, at the end of the season when I actually see how they play/fit into the team.

Couldn't agree more. So far, Coman looks like a diamond in the rough and the other players could come good too. Let's wait.

The mercato is rated when the mercato is over, it makes no sense to rate considering the sporting performances, there are far many more factors that determine this, which are irrelevant to the facts that were rellevant when the transfer decision was made.
For example, if a transfer director buys Messi for 20mil now, he ought to take full credit for the transfer, even if Messi brakes his leg right before the season starts and play no game at all...

The sporting performance might times depends and luck and esp the coach.
It is stupid to blame the transfer director for Coaches errors and vice versa.

Some fans who are ignorant of the new player's value can only rate the newcomer after the season, but players dont fall from the sky or magically appear from the abyss, the have a history, a previous team.
They have a certain value before they are acquired.

Disagree, how they fit in is Allegri's work, verdict will be on Allegri on what he achieved given what was expected of this team. Have Marotta made Allegri's job any easier is to be judged now.

So, this mercato then:

Morata - Overpriced. Bad business that benefits Real. Bench.
Pereyra - Overpriced. Not needed at all. 6th choice in midfield. The worst signing, complete BS.
Romulo - 7th choice in midfield. Useful as vice-Licht on RB. Bench.
Evra - Nice signing. Starter in back 4. Bench in 3-5-2.
Coman - Interesting project for the future. But for now, bench.

Money committed: 50m+

Grade: 3/10
No improvement for the starting eleven at all when everyone is healthy.

4/10 mercato.

Worst:

- Pereyra

Best

Coman and Evra

Zach agrees to it actually.

But i'm doing the positive biassed rating now, to counter all the depressed ratings and remind people there is something to look forward to

So Milan-esque.

Imagine if Galliani said that. This forum would implode with jokes and laughter. :inter:
Agreed. Because when Galliani said it, he sold them anyway, whilst Marotta is a man of his word :)

No, what you're doing is making yourself look like a fool again.

And Marotta will sell Vidal too.

The last time Galliani said such a thing was days before he sold Zlatan, a top 3-5 in the world, to PSG for only 20million euros.

Still, the concept is weak. Only a team like Sassuolo would say something like that with Berardi.

Our squad is good as it is. No need to sign players just for the sake of it! If we got some extra cash in our transfer budget, we should save it for the winter.

Ironic, the signings a lot of us were excited for (Krasic/Janet/Diego) back fired in our faces, but the ones we least expected(or most skeptical) turned out well (Barzagli/Caceres coming back/overpaying for Asamoah/).

It's not good as it is. It's the same team as last year. The same team that crashed and was a laughing stock in Europe. The bench was the least of our worries. We've been over this.

Save it for winter or next summer. Shouldn't be buying just to buy.

I think many of us can agree to a certain extent that our tactics in Europe were the main reason for crumbling in CL.
