Half Of Europe After Buffon
Inter and Milan are ahead of Barcelona and Valencia in the race.
The transfer rumours around Buffon, widely considered the best goalkeeper in the world right now, are circulating and it seems he will continue his career in either Italy or Spain, if he should decide to leave Juventus to play in the Champions League.
Behind Italy, where Inter and Milan are strongly linked with the player, there's Spain. Not Real Madrid, who have never manifested the intention of letting go of Casillas, an idol at Madrid, but Barcelona, who would like a world-class player on the only position where they don't have a star (Victor Valdes doesn't quite fit that description).
Valencia are also after the goalkeeper, as Cañizares isn't getting any younger at 33 years of age. In the Valencia team who intend to win the league title Buffon would be perfect.
Last in place on the contenders list would be Arsenal, with Lehmann's contract due to expire and Almunia almost 30 years old and with only a year left on his contract.
