well, that was only a suggestion from me.. But I am very opitimistic about gigi..

in the past I wanted him at juve, it was a dream actualy, and he came.. this year I wanted him to stay, he stayed.. And I want him to stay forever with juve, because he is the best goalkeeper.. and I am sure he will stay.. I feel it

I heard the opposite way, that he wont definitely renew his Contract.

But there is time to change his mind...

Sacchi: Golden Ball To Maradona Of Goalkeepers

"If he doesn't win, when will a keeper of defender ever do it? There's no one like him."

These days, after the list of 50 nominees for the Golden Ball was released, everyone from players to press journalists to coaches had something to say about the prestigious award. Arrigo Sacchi has very clear ideas on the issue and wrote about it on La Gazzetta Dello Sport: "I've always thought that to win the Golden Ball you need to have great talent, technical ability and physical strength. Then when you win something important like a Champions League, a World Cup or European Cup, your chances obviously increase. Gigi Buffon was a great protagonist of last season. I think all the Azzurri players would deserve a Golden Ball: they achieved something extraordinary. But, objectively, I think nobody is more talented than this incredible athlete who never has an off game."

"I've known Buffon a long time: he was destined for success. When Parma sold him they asked me what I thought about it. I said Juventus had made a great deal: they got the Maradona of goalkeepers. Buffon in goal means having many more points than you deserve at the end of a season. I have respect and admiration for other great champions who would deserve this trophy. Like Cannavaro and Zidane: I've worked with them at Parma and at Madrid. Then there is Henry, the brilliant Arsenal striker. Eto'o, Ronaldinho, and Deco are the aces of the great Barcelona. Then, Kaká, Makelele, Drogba, Lampard, Essien, etc. But if Buffon doesn't win today, when will a defender or goalkeeper ever make it? There is no one like him."

Reports in English media continue to circulate regarding the possible attempt by Jose Mourinho to sign Gigi in January as a replacement to the injured Petr Cech.

A £25m (€36.5m) figure has been mentioned in one London based newspaper (The Sun) today.

    Chelsea want Buffon, says agent
    Friday 20 October, 2006

Chelsea are interested in signing Juventus goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon, his agent Paolo Fabbri has confirmed.

The London club are looking for a new shot-stopper after news that the serious injury sustained by Petr Cech against Reading on Saturday could keep him out for a year.

As a result, Chelsea are allegedly ready to make a £25m bid for the world champion after rumours linking Inter’s Francesco Toldo with a move to England were dismissed.

“Chelsea have expressed their interest in the player,” Fabbri told The Sun newspaper on Friday.

“We are aware that Roman Abramovich can offer fortunes, but he needs to convince the player that this is the right move for him.

“This is not a financial issue, it’s about a chance in life,” added the representative. “I don’t think he wants to leave Italy, but things can change quickly in football.”

Buffon recently pledged to stay with Juventus until the end of the season when he hopes the club will celebrate their return to Serie A.

However, Juventus have insisted that they want to keep Buffon who is proving to be decisive for the outfit in the Second Division.

The 28-year-old, who is contracted to Juve until 2010, would be an ideal January swoop for the Stamford Bridge club as he would be eligible to play in the Champions League.

Buffon has also attracted the interest of Manchester United, Milan and Inter over the last 24 months.

The Corriere dello Sport newspaper also leads with Chelsea’s interest in the Golden Ball nominee on Friday.

Yes i read today that there is a 40 mil Euro Offer...i would say that now at this moment we will not sell Buffon-But rest serious...if In the Summer Market he will try to buy Buffon for around 40-45 Mil Euro and we can have Amelia...we have to think about it seriously...

    Goal.com quotes of the week....

“I would say that I am having less sex now that I’m playing in Serie B – there is more to think about in this Division.”
Don’t bother Juventus ‘keeper Gigi Buffon on a Saturday night – he’ll have a headache

I would sell him for 50 mil. Euros.

That is a fantastic offer, no matter how important Buffon is.

We could get an excellent, young replacement or give it a shot with Mirante.

That indeed is an offer you cant refuse, but I would wait until Summer.

The question is would Chelsea buy Buffon then?
