I'm thinking he was either expecting someone with half a brain cell to close down Motta on the edge of our own area, or trying to hold onto the ball instead of fist it away. Actually, I'd say it's a little bit of both looking at replays.

I feel sorry for Buffon because he is the greatest ever GK and both of his teams (Juventus, Italy) are fairly average right now. I really hope he doesn't leave the club this summer out of disappointment.

Watching our defence lately I realized there is not a safe position.
Buffon is the best, so I have very high expectations of him.

I thought he could have pushed the ball wider or out for a corner.

Motta should certainly have been closed down better.

I have a feeling this board will sell him this summer.

If it was a competent board then I'd be sad also but at least we'd get a lot of $$$ for him and get 2-3 great players with that $$$ and budget #.

If we lose him, Juventus is finish. And that my friend, is a fact.

Eh, give him time. I'm not suggesting selling Buffon...but if we did and were offered some nasty number for it then we really could use the money similar to what we did when we offloaded Zizou...Buffon's biggest deed for this club could be his departure...we could totally revamp all spots needed with that.
