look no-one is denying that Gigi is the best thing since sliced bread, but if ever there was a massive offer like that for him, I would say go for it...if he moves on it will not make him a lesser champion and it will be a practical and logical step in the best interests of Juventus
Sorry man...but this doesn't make sense at all.

No offense, but fuck you, and fuck everyone else that would even think that of Gigi.
right back at ya, buddy boy
just keeping it real
Please watch this, and say that heartless cold venom about Gigi again.

I dare ya.
easy guys!!!

i understand ahmed's point of view, its just hard to let go of a true juventino legend for money ahmed. not at the moment and not until he retires. lets face it buffon still has a a few more years under his belt and he might chose to end his career with genoa so until then he is strictly juve property.

selling buffon is hard as a supporter of the team but it also has its benefits its just a matter of balancing both opinions.

The "it will be a practical and logical step in the best interests of Juventus".

I don't see it as the best interest of our team. Not at all. And just because Moggi risked with Zidane doesn't mean you'll always find Pavel Nedved.

But then again, each one has his own philosophy and reading concerning this. Another thing is that even if there's another keeper on par with Gigi, thats IF, doesn't make sense to sell him because he's one of our main key/foundation/loved player etc....

I'm sure the fans would probably kill our Mang if they ever decided to sell Del Piero even if the offer will exceed 100m. The reasons are obvious.

Last but not least we are no Madrid/Barca/Inter/Chelsea to thank the players for the memories and look for the replacement. We've always been a team that respect their Idols.

since when does selling a player = disrespect? Juve is probably the most honourable club when it comes to this aspect of club football...most players who left Juve have the fondest of memories and have the utmost respect for Juve...guys like Zidane Inzaghi and Ibra have never bad-mouthed Juve, and it is a credit to the club for creating that kind of relationship

Considering what they've given and done. Putting also into consideration our toughest period in the last couple of years. Not to mention what they've achieved and the bond relationship they have with the fans, we will indeed be disrespecting him If thats against his wish.

Buffon said it himself that if an offer around 50m eur comes, he'll be the first one who'll tell Juve to sell him.
And i agree, selling him would be smart.

But that's one smart thing i'd never do and i hope it will never be done.

You're not serious are you?

When he said If an offer around 50m comes and that he'll leave.... he's saying that out of modesty or being modest if thats the correct phrase. Also in a way meaning that it's pity to pay 50m for me and I don't deserve it.

But there's no way he meant that he will request a transfer.

It was his way of showing how much he loves Juve and how much he cares about Juve.
I think he was serious. He won't request a transfer but he is aware that with the 50m, by smartly conducting business, Juve bosses can buy players that can bring better results to Juve than he can do alone. And if such offer arrives one day, he'll probably tell our directors that he wants Juve and he wants to stay, but what he wants even more is Juve to become the best in the world again. And if becomming the best in the world means Buffon leaving, then he's ready to make that sacrifice.

Indeed, he was basically saying he will do it if it meant HELPING out the team (that he would sacrifice himself for the club), and how he isnt worth it too in a way compared it to what it could do for Juve. Not that he wants to leave perse.

Either way, utterly ridicolous notion. Whats the money worth, when the whole point of signing players is to get quality players, and there doesnt get anymore quality then him. Its not even a loyalty thing, why the would you sell the best there ever was in that position. No fucking thank you.

I wish some people would get this into their head.

Why would any club sell the best player in the world in that position unless either the player wanted to leave or the club was in financial trouble? The whole point of the transfer market is to get the best.

Are we turning this into Romeo Juliet story, Alen?

If Buffon wants to leave he will leave not because there's a 50m offer out there for him and because he wants Juventus to have the best players out there. No football player thinks in such a way, I'm sorry.

It's simple, Buffon loves this club/fans/players, in a way that he's trying to be modest saying he isn't worth 50m... just like what too many players say concerning these crazy figures.

This same Buffon admitted that he was going to leave this club back in 2006. After the relegation he decided to stay.
So yes, it is a love story where one man is ready to sacrifice himself for something bigger.

Buffon says what he means. Sometimes he irritates us when he says that Inter are better than Juve, but that's him, he doesn't lie.
If he says that he's ready to leave if (this IF is important) that will make Juve better, then he means it.

All Buffon was saying was that he cares enough about Juve that he will always try to act in the club's interest.

Doesn't really need pages worth of heated debate. ;)
