Watched this new series Startup first season quick quick, was so good, catches you off guard (dont watch the trailer for long if you wanna try it, kinda spoilerish).

It has elements Halt catch and fire, tiny bit of Breaking bad (good people become desperate, facing impossible choices, fucked over etc) and at times the grittiness of The Wire. Dont mean its that level of the latter two, but some dramatic similarities.

The guy playing the haitian lead is most impressive. And ofcourse Martin Freeman in an unique semi psychopath role.

The acting in Westworld was superb. The hosts had the hardest job imo and all of them did fantastic. Actresses playing Maeve and Dolores were the stars of the season for me.

Kit Harington is a terrible actor and HoC is meh :p

Kit reminds me of what critics wrote about Diane Kruger in Inglorious Basterds. He looks alive when he is dead and looks dead when he is alive :D

It's really good. One of my favs this year. Weird as fuck though. Not as mysterious and subliminal as Westworld but if my theory turns out to be true, the show will definitely hold its on as an unique watching experience. Give it a shot.

I haven't heard much of 3%, so it's good? Why as a Brazilian? Is there a connection to the show?

Oh, just did a little research. So it's a Brazilian show, huh? Kinda unexpected. And a Netflix original at that... I'll definitely watch it.

I tried the first episode and it's very peculiar defenitely have my interest, especially how the narrative changed at end of her telling them her story. Felt like a classic fable story commencing, improved the pilot episode ALOT.

And yeah it's Brazilian, it's unique idea of haves and have nots and what people are willing to do for it. Only seen 4 episodes so far its alright.

Yeah, first episode starts kinda weak and by the end you're hooked.

This 3%, watched the first episode. So bad, man. I can't take it, the acting is just horrible. Maybe cos I speak the language but anytime a Brazilian flick tries to get "serious" its always in such a theatrical way, so forced and unnatural.

Should I continue torturing myself and keep watching it? Does it really get better?

i watched the oa.

here is my problem with it

it's good for 7.5 episodes.

then last .5 episode it collapses. it goes from being an epic story about something larger than life, to protecting murica.

not sure if would recommend

also what your thoery? iwant to know, but spoiler tag pls. i got a feeling you are wrong. the show catches you off guard
