Btw @Osman Syfy will be premiering another show on the 14th, Childhood's End. Based on Arthur C. Clarke's classic novel so expectations are extremely high. Again, seems SyFy is upping their game, getting back to the roots. Oh, and Charles Dance from Game of Thrones is in it :D

They are seriously not allowed to mess with that book, hope they dont fvck it up, trailer makes it look V like stuff. But its a mini series so production and focus should be more tight.

Btw, Expanse was a good pilot, they built the vibe of the worlds quite quickly in a neat understated way.

Yeah, V was also based on the novel. I remember reading the book when I was a kid but I have no recollection of how it goes. I'll have to buy it again.

 The Expanse was a very good unexpected surprise. I'm actually dying to see the next episode. Hope the rest of the series is up to par.

Louie isn't a comedy, IMO.

TBH, it's pretty light fare, but I've been impressed with ABC's reboot of The Muppets. Pépe the King Prawn is da man.

Are there any good comedies out there, like newer ones?? please recommend lots of them, all the ones i usually watch have gone downhill, even Louie became a little boring.
Louie is one of the best shows on television. It's almost better when it isn't funny. Anyway, you might like Aziz Ansari's new show Master of None which has a bit of a Louie vibe

You watch Modern Family? Lots of peeps give it stick but its consistently amusing light comedy.

Comedy to watch over breakfast/lunch, like right now for me lol.

My stick is I just can't handle that the show is derivative (a sanitized version of an edgier comedy that preceeded it) and played heavy-handedly in its comedy. It tries too hard to be funny for me. And normally I'm usually with Christopher Lloyd productions, etc. The cast is great, but I hate how they are directed.

Yeah it's very simplistic /hammy effort often, but I like the cast quite a bit and it's generally nice to watch. Don't expect much from it or laugh out loud much, but it's charming.

It keeps it light and takes the edge off, which is great for mass market entertainment. So I agree I can see how it can totally pacify the masses. ;)

There's always a place for that.
