Yep, unfortunately the show isn't doing great in viewership . I have some hope though because hannibal also has a low view count and it is going for season 3 , althrough that show has low costs if i remember correctly . Also after the first year community had low views and managed to go up to season 5 . If it manages to create a hardcore following like the previous 2 maybe it has a shot to be renewed .
Hannibal and Community are some of the best shows on air btw.

Fully agree , being good is what got them the hardcore following and what is making possible a sixth season of community . Although there was a low point in the fourth season of community , dan harmon leaving harmed the show .

Historical fiction set in asia, its a must see for me on that alone. Seeing the trailer, it looks badass.

Extra plus it has that actor that looks like Juninho, not sure about the main actor playing Polo though.

Netflix original series have it's up and downs, House of Cards being a hell of a show and Hemlock Grove being meh.

So what do you guys think of Marco Polo? The trailer looks good.

That looks sweet, gonna keep an eye on it.

Da.

Kublai was the fourth son of Tolui (his second son with Sorghaghtani Beki) and a grandson of Genghis Khan.

Looks too much like they are trying to duplicate the "game of thrones" from Game of Thrones. When I heard of the series, I really hoped it would focus on exploring - especially since it's the directors of Kon-Tiki. Not that I thought Kon-Tiki was amazing, but I liked the angle.

Netflix wants to make this their Game of Thrones though, as in huge production that draws in international crowd big time. Its even the 2nd most expensive show ever from the article I read, just after GOT. Netflix wants to spread their brand as broad as possible, and they are banking on this series to help them do that.

Yeah, this time Google Translate didn't too well. But no, of course it doesn't mean it's going to be bad. I'm personally just not interested in another series similar to Game of Thrones. I do understand why networks want to copy the format though.

Don't jump the gun, we don't know if it's supposed to use the same format.. Maybe it's a completely different approach and plot.
