Amazon's LOTR probably will be shit but its amusing how much it triggers some people that there will be like 1 or 2 black people in it lol
I don't think it triggers anyone that's sane.
I think the outrage is that they are disrespecting the author work and calling they're changes "improving the authors original writing", which is downright dumb.

“It felt only natural to us that an adaptation of Tolkien’s work would reflect what the world actually looks like.”
- Lindsey Weber, E.P. Amazon's LOTR Series, Vanity Fair (Feb. 2022)

"There are certainly themes Tolkien felt were important. We made a promise to ourselves at the beginning of the process that we weren't going to put any of our own politics, our own messages or our own themes into these movies. What we were trying to do was to analyse what was important to Tolkien and to try to honour that. In a way, were trying to make these films for him, not for ourselves."
- Peter Jackson, Interview with GreenCine (Dec. 2002)

The funniest part is that, for some reason, they always tried their best to give a woke view to Tolkien’s works. Some feminists (like Brenda Partridge for example) even concluded that Lewis and Tolkien had a gay relationship based on the relationship between Sam and Frodo:sergio::rofl:

Looks terrible. Im confident they will mess this up.
I'm actually at peace because that trailer looks like horseshit even if you've never heard about LotR in your life and have no expectations. Just look at the (lack of) production value at hand. Show looks like The Witcher, Wheel of Time, GoT or whatever mass produced shit the streaming services are spamming into the market.

The frontier is defended, the globohomo has failed in his attempt to ridicule J.R.R's magnum opus, simply by failing to build a Trojan Horse that's just reasonably convincing. It didn't need to be fantastic, just a a Trojan Horse that didn't have the Greek soldiers asses hanging out would have been enough to do lasting damage to Tolkien's legacy.

Just like 25 years ago when our friend Harvey Weinstein, Miramax executive at that time, insisted on squeezing the whole story into a single film (two were planned) and threatened to replace PJ with Tarantino. So PJ and Fran switched to New Line Cinema and Robert Shaye, the legend extended two into three films and gave the creatives all the time, money and artistic freedom they needed. The rest is history.

Anyone seen Domina? From last year, just finished first season. Was surprisingly good, thought it would be light hearted teen version of classic Rome story, but it was pretty high stakes brutal throughout.

Based on trailer the casting for Corinthian looks really good casting choice.

You can read Sandman fast? :D took me so much time to finish the first book (edition of 4). It looks promising and visuals are great unlike The Wheel of Time. But Sandman is so fucked up I wonder how will they even manage it on the screen. I was pissed to see that Death is a black girl instead of a gothic type pale hot chick
