Yeah, it's too fucking good to be true. Incredible tv. It's the ending you expect for a fiction series with a perfectly planned ending.

When you read about the production process, HBO don't look pretty though. Apparently they had the message on record for two years without sharing it with the police. According to the director, they only "just" found the material in June: http://www.nytimes.com/2015/03/17/n...t-durst-film-tests-ethics-too.html?ref=topics

No, I didn't see that, but I'm not surprised. :D
He got him off for murder despite cutting up the body and dumping it in the ocean.

Yeah they are pushing ethical boundaries with the way they did this. They manipulated the criminal justice system to hype their documentary :howler: . Their marketing exec must be Dick DeGuerin's less famous brother, Jack.

It's such a scummy thing to do. I can't think of a better way for a channel to boosted their ratings. On the day of the series finale, the main character of the show is arrested. And the people who are 'tricked' into watching the show because of the arrest won't know how irresponsible HBO was until it's too late. The worst thing is, that even after knowing how HBO behaved, I still recommend people to watch it. It's just too good not to. And, well, he wouldn't have been arrested without their investigation. :p

Everyone needs to get in on this :agree:

I think aspects of Durst are pretty funny - he's such a random character. Steals a sandwich while he has 30 something thousand dollars in his car and gets arrested. Get the fuck out

According to documents, Durst was found in a Louisiana hotel room with a .38 caliber revolver, five ounces of marijuana, a fake ID, a latex mask and $42,000 in cash

Yeah, he makes such a great villain with his weird behavior. His weird voice and how he blinks all the time is sooo creepy. :D And still, you still have some kind of sympathy for him - at least to a certain degrees. The show is great at really pointing out how scummy the rest of his family are and how bad he was treated.

Similar to The Jinx? Jeeez, I don't know. The Thin Blue Line, which is also mentioned in the NY Times article, kind of it's, and it's a good documentary, but it's a bit dated. The Act of Killing, if you haven't seen that, is also pretty jaw-dropping.

Did you see the Scientology documentary on DR2 the other night? It's pretty good and free to watch for a few more days: https://www.dr.dk/tv/se/dokumania/dokumania-scientologys-religioese-faengsel

First few times it hurt watching it, then I thought of the reaction other people might have and that amused me. That shit is some ALC material, I miss ALC's surprises.... :frown:

Just finished watching the first season. Pretty cool if you ask me.

I'm left wondering if The Punisher will make an appearance in the series at all.

I've added The Jinx to my what to watch next list right next to True Detective.
I watched 4 episodes and dunno what to make out of it. I think it's cool their primary focus isn't on a super hero but lawyer/dialog/mafia etc. Oh and Charlie Cox is making it to the top, he's probably gonna be in every movie that comes out soon enough.

Oh and True Detective  watch it asap.
