I think he means they don’t really run anything and are just figureheads, kind of like how the UK still has a queen. I think a lot of countries in Western Europe have them, they’re just useless celebrities so we don’t hear of them.
So whats their point lol

There are legit still monarchists in western European democracies?
Some people like having higher power over them.

The current "celebrity" status is one thing. But in my mind I took it to mean that there is an actual desire to have some sort of possibly elected constitutional monarchy implemented, which I cannot wrap my head around.
Nonsense basically.

Which countr(ies) in particular?
I was just going with what was said in that Macron-slapping article. They seem to really tie the phrase he said to the monarchy.

The man in the green t-shirt was also heard to shout "Montjoie Saint Denis" while he slapped Macron. This phrase was the battle cry of the French armies when the country was still a monarchy.

The last king of France, Louis Philippe, abdicated in 1848 during the revolution in February of that year. The country would go on to have an emperor between 1852 and 1870, but the phrase "Montjoie Saint Denis" is associated with the kingdom of France.

Being a monarchist is literally the most retarded thing one can be IMO.

"I want some lucky sperm to live in privelage his/her entire life at my expense just because".
'I would rather obey one lion than 200 rats of my own species'

Playing the devil's advocate here but governments don't get slower, more expensive, ineffective, cynical and malicious than in the current day.

That being said you are seething at figureheads again. European 'monarchists' aren't real monarchists, they just don't see the value of dismantling a piece of history and tradition while the entire third world is filing for welfare gibs...with three fake IDs no less.

Umm how about not obeying anyone? Vote the fuck out whoever is not fit for the job.

Sorry but there is no argument good enough to justify a monarchy. Wanting to BRING BACK monarchy is what I meant when I said it's retarded. I can kinda concur to it's acceptabily as a touristic attraction tho.
