Been stuck at the same spot since day one. Pretty frustrating but i can see the potential in this game and why people like it.
Besides it's shitty graphics and clumsy combat system, i can tell it's the kind that grows on you. But it's definitely a game for people with a lot of free time in their hands. To play the same part and kill the same enemies over and over and over again requires that. Not something i have aplenty so i'll just put it on the shelf for now.
Thanks. I'll do some reading. Tbh i kind got familiar with the surroundings for obvious reasons, a map isn't really that necessary.
I usually play the Assassin/Elf/Sneaky/Bow-n-Arrow class in RPGs but i thought it'd be better to start as a warrior on this game.
I tried to go through that cemetery with the skeletons but figured i wasn't strong enough to deal with them so i went the other way.
I'm stuck at the second boss, the one on a bridge. I already figured i can jump from that tower and do the aerial attack, but it's been hard to get to him as i been dying a lot on the way. Already upgraded some of my weapons/armor and stuff but i'm still struggling. Bought a bow so i can lure one at a time, made my life easier a bit.
I don't really think it's the wrong way cause i don't have other choices, it's either; fight the skeletons, fight 2 fatties on this dark corridor, fight a dark knight who's got his back turned that i've trying to sneak upon to no avail, or fight that big monster on the bottom of the tower. I'm not strong enough to fight any of them so there's only one place i can go which is go through the fog and fight the boss.
I'll give it another try later when i get home, in fact, i'll try to read about it a little when i have some free time at work.
Yeah, thats how the older rpg worked. You cannot beat those skeletons and you dont want to, cause thats the way to pinweel(ez) and Nito, and much harder regular enemy's.
The boss you are facing, is learning you how to position. Knowing how to avoid hits by skilling trough the legs.
You can do this the easy way tbh.
When you enter the foggate, , turn around and you'll see a ladder. Kill the skeletons and go back down, run down the lane and provoke the boss. Then back up for aerial attack. once you land and hit, run away down the bridge (its a roof actually). turn around and wait for him, when he comes, roll past and back up the tower and repeat aerial attack.
3 of those will kill him.
Getting there, is all about learning timing and pulling. First of all make sure you stay under 50% weigtlimit. so you can do normal rolls. shield and weapon. dont go twohanding, thats to soon for now.
Dont go for parries, get your blocking right first.
3 things to master right now
1) learn what enemy's do. if they wield a shield, they might parry or block, do they have their shield up ? The ones with the spear are constantly in defensive stance
2) block and hit. but watch your stamina and surrounding. dont attack if there are 2 close cause they'll counter you and kill you
3) kicking or backstabbing. enemy stays to close ? just kick followed by a strike will solve it
I would want to point out to my favorite weapon, wich is extremely good. The Uchigatana.
if you go to the area with the 2 guys with spears, and go down, there is a merchant about. He sells arrows. Now arrows are nice (get a load), but he wields and uchigatana.
Its my mid and endgame weapon. The one handed strong attack is massive. the two handed slashes got excellent range and damage. AND it scales excellent with dexterity.
At the end of the game, i had an Uchigatana +15 buffed with crystal magic weapon and the damage increase buff.
Makes very short work of any boss
as for now :
Secondly
If you get about 100 arrows, and go down the bridge with the dragon later (the red one),shoot the tail, wait till he lands again and repeat. Gives you the drake sword wich is massively overpowered at your level
I'll be reading into that walkthrough... In fact i might start a new game and just do whatever it tells me to, at least til i get familiarized with the game.
And i remember old RPG's from the 80's even, i'm an old school gamer it's just that this game progresses so slow. It's not only a RPG but a strategic game as well. Everything has to be calculated.
I'll look for your sword. Oh and yes i read about that sword you can get from the dragon by shooting his tail. I'll definitely try that. When i first saw it it flew away, well, i ran like hell too so i don't know where it went. So that means it'll be back under the bridge?
The dragon is at the other end of the bridge, waiting. Basically you need to get to the level under the bridge. from there, you can aim at the tail without troubles.
Mentionned guide explains it very well.
The Lore of the game isnt just offered to you. you need to discover it trough strategically placed items and descriptions, along with special hidden events by doing stuff differently. It takes the puzzlers quite a while figuring it out
This guy's channel made many nice vids about the lore. As did "epicnamebro", but the production value is much less.
One extra hint. Once you get trough the woods where you can farm (and the cat of the neutral covenant is), dont attack the ghosts first (they are passive), but instead go trough that ruin where the cat is, trough the bridge to the other side, and seek for the boxes need to edge of the cliff.
One of them has the stone armor set. A massive set, the first you find. Its borderline gamebreaking diffrence once you can wear these.
Try not to get overburdened.
hence, if you have trouble with the game, do the farming of the souls on that cliff near the entrance as he explained, and level up the attribute that influences carrying capacity.
if you have questions about gearing, do ask, cause its a bit of a mess to understand everything

Zacheryah
I started a new game as a Pyromancer. With the help of your tips and the walkthrough i beat the boss and also got the Blake Sword. Also got the bottomless box and the repair thing. Can say life is a bit easier now, let's see until when. I'm at the next level.
No, is that a DLC? I'm not too big on buying extra stuff for games.
Oh, I got them killed by my third try. I had help though, I summoned someone online. This game feels a lot like Dragon's Dogma. In fact. DD has the best combat system in a RPG Game. Its a bit like Shadow of the Colossus where you can climb on bosses and have this epic fight.
