Or you know, it still isn't even confirmed for PC and they might not even release it at all i.e. RDR. Considering the amount of piracy in PC gaming it might not even be worth it for them to make it.
Welcome to 2013. Piracy isnt nearly the problem its supposed to be. Thanks to steam sales, people can now buy that older game, for a big discount, that gets even bigger when a wild sale occurs.
For this reason, devs have been turning away from console to pc, because it is getting more profitable.
Consoles, dont have piracy, but they got second hand games, wich from a publisher pov is the same thing. They dont get any money, gamestop does.
second hand games are slowly crippeling consoles. Publishers ONLY fund games that MUST get like what 1-5 mil sales ? So they crap you over with a ton of worthless dlc, or even worse day one dlc ?
On pc, there are sales, indie games, and kickstarters. This adds so much value to developpers, they they eighter go without a publisher, or that publishers have a better income over the years.
As a lovely side result for pc gamers, we dont have dayone dlc. Cause we dont take that shit and would buy your game and pirate the dal1 dlc cause its a pathetic moneygrubbing thing to do.
Gta will offcourse come to pc. Hence, via steam, gta4 is still making money cause its sold at the price of a second hand game in a gamestop. But this instead goes to the dev/publisher.
