Then someone should explain the 69 positive reviews out of 85 that are on metacritic. including 15 scores of 100. Ironically, the only 2 negative reviews used include the 1 that was just posted. Are all those positive scores the result of being Kojima sheep? Or maybe it's just a game that isn't for everyone, and leave it at that

Sure is not for everyone. Because it's the most boring game of the year.

Userscore: 6.7 out of 8613 critics.

Most definitely Kojima sheep, yes. You don't give a game with tedious walking simulator gameplay a 100 out of 100, never mind how great cutscenes and story might be. Read the first line of their reviews and you know they just have a hard on for Kojima.

Sterling gave it a 7/10. Sounds pretty fair to me for a game consisting of sidequests only. Also matches the userscore. A score with much bigger sample size than than critic reviews.

assassins creed in particular comes to mind

And that's just fine. But don't try and argue the gameplay is "refreshing" or "something new" because it's not. It's one huge fetch quest with great cutscenes and lot's of self-adulation inbetween.

For all the hype that's been made, not only by the media, but by the great man himself, this is all very underwhelming. I simply expected more, similar to this guy:

I dig Kojima and especially the MGS games, but that is because on top of cutscenes and at times over the top antics, there is also actual gameplay in those games.

Nah. No one would defend that boring game if it wasn't for Kojima.

That video review i posted was spot on. You should watch it.
Dude, you haven’t even played the game. All your arguments are based off watching someone else play. And again the word “boring” nowadays is just used in such a retarded way. You’re better than that, come on.

And also your logic about it being boring because all you do is make a delivery from point A to point B is silly. Pretty much every game in existence is about getting from point A to point B. Uncharted and Tomb Raider comes to mind and they’re very high regarded games. Point A, shoot a few guys, get to point B. Rinse and repeat. What about sports games? Same shit every year. Shooters? Same fucking thing. Boring you say? Nah, it’s what you experience that makes a difference and in this game he not only managed to create a mysterious and intriguing story he made a world that looks undesigned yet realistic. Is it that hard to accept some people like to chill and is in fact enjoying it?

Yeah. It's pointless. Let's stop here.

Of course it’s pointless, it’s amazing how everybody has to have an opinion nowadays even when, in this case, you haven’t even played the damn thing. You could have just said it doesn’t look interesting to you and that’s totally fine, people like different things but hey let’s all have opinions about everything and throw it out there even when we don’t know what we’re talking about

You’re still my favorite Nazi offspring though so I forgive you :baggio:

All i can say is that I am playing it, and I enjoy it. Vastly different than anything I have played before, but so be it. I've spent 60.00 on far worse games.

Such as FIFA every fucking year. I'm not getting suckered into buying FIFA 20. Even I have my limits.

Tell me about it lol. And yes I’m enjoying it a lot too, more than I thought I would. I just had a boss fight at the harbour place. From what I read people are saying the game really gets going when you reach episode 3. New techs, more action etc... So far I’m finding it a bit Dark Soul-ish. Difficult but very rewarding. They really nailed the nature elements on this game, it really feels like a struggle when you’re doing a long ass trip but as I said very rewarding when you get there.

Good for you i guess. I still can't see how it's not boring. Kojima should just stick to making movies and leave out the gameplay at this point.

Guy is admittedly hit and miss, but i fully agree with him on this one:

While watching that, I couldn't get over the tripping. I have no dog in this fight, never played a Kojima game in my life, but tripping in a videogame is NEVER a fun mechanic. I'm glad he brought up RDR2, because the story in that made up for all the wasted time I spent traveling. If the story is similarly engaging, I can probably deal.

Assassin's Creed having lame gameplay with overly cinematic sequences? :howler:

The only game that comes to my mind that had lame gameplay and overly cinematic sequences is Heavy Rain. Even a fuckin' 3 yr old could play that game and be dazzled by the cinematics. AC at least tried to improve the gameplay with every subsequent game.

AC and Far Cry are two franchises I lost hope for. It’s the same washed up shit every time.

Just like Bethesda and their Fallouts I’m tired of their engines. They have nowhere left to go at this point. That to me is what’s boring, not a game that’s trying something different with some original story and approach. I’ll take more Death Stranding type of games over that shit any day of the week.

I'll take a Fallout game with the engine of Death Stranding @AFL_ITALIA
