- Cook a jacket potato as normal
- Chop up some bacon, leeks and spring onions and fry them in a pan until browned
- When it is about done scoop the inside of the potato out, put it in a bowl and mix in the fried chopped ingredients
- Put the mix back inside the potato skins
- Add some grated cheddar cheese on top and put them back in the oven for another 5 mins

Goes well with steak.

That sounds particularly awful, actually. Try fresh asparagus blanched and sauteed in garlic, or red cabbage in a red wine and shallot reduction.

Dude is hitting me with sautées when I am talking about stuffing a plain old jacket potato lol.

Personally I prefer asparagus griddled for a couple of minutes, with an olive oil or light butter side dressing, because it tastes fantastic as it is. If you are having it with steak and go with rare or medium-rare cooking them together works well. Typically I eat most asparagus with fish, and as simple as possible.

Actually the best asparagus dish I have had is wrapped in goat cheese and prosciutto. Blanch the asparagus, cool, wrap first with the goat cheese and then the prosciutto, then chill again. One of my favorite appetizers, cannot go wrong.

today i'm going to make my first apple pie from scratch! will do my best to up load pics of the final product as soon as it is ready :D

since its ramadan and also my first ramadan on my own ( as i did not go back to my parents) i decided the days i wont be at family i will cook my own meals and not just the bachelor ones like pasta, and rice which i've grown sick of, but real meals. i stumbled on awesome vids on youtube that take you step by step its more like cooking for dummies.

orginally i was going to make an apple pie ala mcdonalds but found out there was no puff pastry in any super market near me so i', going to make the original apple pie by making the crust my self and then taking it from there. i already got the apples, cinnamon, and apple vinger.

so hopefully i will try to make more dishes and post here.

i already made tiramisu before so i think its in me i just need to stop being lazy and venture in this world.

McDonalds apple pie, hotter than the surface of the sun :touched:

I haven't had a McDonalds for about 2 years, I'll be interested to see how these turn out.

Delicious! :lick:
:touched:

they r indeed delicious just dont look exactly like they should and i know why now.

mistakes:

1- after making them with puff pastry i should've sent them straight to the freezer for 30 mins

2 fold a tiny part on the long edges and fill the apple filling in between both folds. when placing the cover make sure the cover, covers the two folds perfectly then move on to the two shorter sides of the rectangle.
