up to the point where it cause a measurable damage to someone, for example you can call a press conference and declare that black people suck, but you can't not hire a black person just because they are black
I actually think the first one is worse, because it becomes a public issue. But if I own my private firm, and I don't like black people for whatever reason, I should have the choice about who I want to employ.

Then that isnt the freedom of speech.

Freedom of speech is the backbone of any democracy. I am not opposed to the freedom of speech at all, but when people say something that i find morally defunct i will always call them up on it and get them to explain themselves. They can say what they want, doesnt mean they wont get a mouthfull from me.

But then freedom of speach couldn;'t be used in most of the cases about gays in sports? I mean like this article wrote, it looks like this freedom of speace does cose measurable damage.

late me give you an example. when a meteorologist predicts the weather for the next day, he collects some data, runs a model, analyzes the model and makes a prediction. he doesn't sacrifice a lamb or a virgin. that's why god, who allegedly created the atmosphere and all the rest, has no consequence.
Yes, I fully agree on this, we are not talkiing about some religious god. This god we are talking about, started something, he put physics laws, created some matter or whatever, he didn't just look to the universe and said already what was there just nobody knew that it was ther in the first place, like our meteriologist eg, he made things in motion and went on a holiday. That would make everything his consequence? Consequence is the word used for things that happen because of things that couse them right? So didn't this god created physics laws or something similar by which everything goes by, wouldn't that make everything that abides those laws his consequence?

You can count it as emotional, psychological damage, which I think North Americans take seriously on a legal level. You know, people always get sued for causing emotional trauma or crap like that.
in canada is very different. you have to show that my discrimination was the direct cause of say, you becoming depressed and being unable to get a job and make money

It'd be creepy if anyone in my team (especially in such a contact sport as football) admitted that he was gay, and I'd probably vote for him to get kicked out of the team, so that I could concentrate on the game not watch my back all the time. I've nothing against gays, but they just shouldn't advertise their sick lifestyle through sports (and that's what they would do if they admit it in public), so they better keep it silent. I much rather read a Legro or Kaka t-shirt about religion than see some famous gay quote after a great goal.
I'd much rather have fanboys like you keep silent. Even if you're not really homosexual, you're still a bigger faggot than any gay footballer.

I would laugh my ass off if someone like Kakà, Legrottaglie or Cavani rip off their jerseys during a goal celebration to reveal a T-shirt that says, "Jesus hates gays".

How about "Jesus told me to tell you that he hates gays. And no I'm not crazy for hearing voices in my head, f you!"
