Yara is theons older sister, had she been a boy she would have been dead like her older brothers or be the one in winterfell. So everything that followed was only possible because she was a woman so let's not make this look like some female victimized by patriorchy.
Even accepting that angle the show's depiction isn't pushing any feminist agenda in any way. You're only arguing for her not being a victim of a patriarchical society, I mean the exact same thing could've happened in medieval europe, since you already brought it up.

Come on, dude. It all changed vastly in this season. Only someone who read Judith Butler can't see that.

Welcome to the club :p fyi daenerys won't be the first queen of westeros, also funny how itamar says we shouldn't judge the sparrow movement with our current morals, calling it anachronistic, but it's ok to do it with feudal lords.
I think the point of their discussion was to try to judge everyone with our current moral, with the obvious result being that everyone's horrible - the sparrow actually being the least horrible arguably.
