That was Tywin's plot in the first place. Jamie goes to ask for help and says he'll keep the family line going if Tyrion doesn't die and Tywin says "done" instantly. He had hoped Jamie would ask for help from the very beginning, you can see how surprised Jamie looks when he realizes his father had that plan ready.

I was just saying that Jaime made the deal with Tywin during the court recess. We have zero evidence of him making this deal with Tywin before the trial began. Was that enough time to get Shae in the plan?

When I said I agree with Alc, I meant that in the end Shae did not love Tyrion. I don't think she did it to save him, I think she did it because she is a self-serving bitch. Hell hath no fury like a Shae scorned. Of course I could be completely wrong as I have not read the books. In the meantime break her teeth and throw to the wolves because my gut tells me she did not do it to help him. She never trusted the other Lannisters, why start now? If she did make a deal, it was to destroy him.

Edit: I was just discussing it with someone here. We think she planned it with Cersei. They both have motives. Cersei wants Tyrion dead because her pea sized brain thinks Tyrion and Sansa did it, and he threw Shae away once he married Sansa so she also hates him.

That was just in response to who else besides Jaime could do it, but I think Kyle said Bronn left anyway. Agreed Jaime would be the smart choice. Two dead sons and one stupid remaining daughter is not a good option.

So who's gonna fight the trial by combat?

I hope because Cersei chooses The Mountain (who is better in westeros? Hound is wanted man), that the twist will be not Jaime (awesome transition by him btw), since he has no chance, but that Oberyn will step up as Tyrion's champ to get his long awaited revenge.

He has no sexual desires or urges, he indicated that left over inner drive is better suited to pursue more important things, I dont think he meant the throne litterally (he is master of the shadow influence), but that he's sole interest is in what the throne symbolizes, power. And for a mutilated slave from half across the world, he has done extremely well in his sole focus...

im not saying shae is in on the conspiracy with the lannisters at all, im saying she is a pawn in it. They are forcing her to testify, either under threat of her own life or theyve told her that tyrion's only chance of survival is to be convicted and beg for mercy. And i still dont believe at all shae would betray tyrion like this, as he never left her but was forced into marriage and for probably the first time in his life resisted having sex with a woman, sansa, to remain loyal to shae.

if shae actually backstabbed him like that then she is the worst character in the show and i just dont see that in her. the writers have made her too sympathetic already to later portray her in that light.

IMO she looked like she was betraying him, especially how he reacted to her too, and not just someone who is betraying him to save his life in some twisted way. Speaking about twisting, she was twisting that blade deep into his heart with how often she mentionned whore and the details of the lies, defenitely acting like a woman scorned. A woman under duress wouldnt enjoy it as much as she seemed to have doing at getting back at him, she would simply have said the lies she been scripted to and that would be it, but she took it a step further as we clearly saw.
