Gotcha Lion, and Lilith dont have a pm from you, just spoiler tag it here if its something major, though doubt it.

Yes it has. Oberyn Martel, in the first episode of this season, mentions to Tyrion that Raegar had left his sister for another woman which started another war. That woman was Ned Starks sister. Robert Baratheon was in love with her and Raegar took her from him, which incited him to rebellion. It was also established in season one that Raegar took her from Robert, he mentions it in the crypt at Winterfell when he goes to see her grave.
Yep, remember that from the first eps. it was the final straw that pushed the Starks over the edge, who are usually loyal to the throne. Not only did Rhaegar obduct their sister/daughter, but when Neds father and older Brother (father dont know, but brother was called Brandon) went to Kings Landing to ask for her back to the Mad king Aerys, he publically executed them both. Shit got real then, and the rest is history.

So...she left robert baratheon for the targarean or she was kidnapped???

Still if this true it makes no sense that ned stark wouldnt at least tell his wife. Catlyn wouldnt have told anyone and then she wouldnt have neglected the shit out of poor jon snow

She was kidnapped (according to Robert anyway...) BUT

some believe that she fell for Rhaegar at some point. (This is not in the book, just a theory)

Wether she had feelings for Rhaegar or not is unclear (seems like she did), but the kidnapping part seems to be true, since she was whisked away without anyones approval to Kings Landing apparently.

Yeah that would be kinda dumb by Ned indeed, but as we learned on every turn, he was fairly stubborn and not so smart man.

Has Ned ever spoken ill of Rhaegar? I know we got an earful from Robert about how Rhaegar took away his Lyanna but I don't think I ever heard Ned say anything...which is strange because had it been my sister I would have lopped his penis off...

Its been years since I saw that episode, but fairly sure Robert did all the venting, and Eddard was more solemn in memory of his sister. He was more peeved to be reminded of what the mad king did to his father and brother Brandon.

@anyone who wants to see it. We usually post streams while it is showing on HBO. Check here on Sundays 9 p.m.

It sucks that this thread is being ruined by a few people. What is even worse is that not only is the thread unmodded, the only mod that posts/checks in here is one of the biggest contributor to ruining it for all of us. :disagree: I wish Burke would grow up a little and help us out instead of hinder.
How am I hindering you?

I was being a jerk when you guys were all crying about my using the spoiler option, but I've not done anything since, except what I think happens.

About John Snow, (i am going to put spoiler tags in this, however it contains nothing that has not been on the TV show, it is just speculation surrounding the Jon Snow theory)
when Jon asks Ned about his who his mother was in season one, Ned tells him he will tell him some other time. Why, if his mother was just some common girl, like everyone has been led to believe, would Ned be so secretive about who she was? It leads some to believe that Jon was the son of an important woman and that her identity must be shielded. It makes sense that Ned would foster him, if he is indeed the son of his sister, he is his blood. But also, if he is the son of Raegar as well, then Robert might possibly have him killed as he would have been the rightful heir of the Targarians with a claim even better than Danerys.

It has nothing to do with what is in the books. Everything I know about this theory has been played out on the TV show. I am not dropping hints about anything, I do not know the answer behind the mystery of Jon Snows birth.

Oh, word.
:agree: but Ned is now dead.
Just live Zed in Pulp Fiction.

Are any of your theories based on spoilers you read?

roose bolton's loyal henchman. Guy who cut off jamie lannister's hand, forced that warrior bitch to fight a bear, and is there to kill remaining Starks for obvious reasons.
