Just checking......

If we don't sign D'Agostino because Udinese are asking way too much money + our young stars and they don't want to accept less than that, are we going to blame the board next summer (when people will slowly forget what was the reason we didn't sign D'Ago) and put D'agostino on the same list with Milito and Xabi Alonso?

That pretty much sums it up :agree:

Well, from Hustini's standpoint, I never blamed anyone for not getting Xabi. If anything, I will praise the board for not sacrificing our youth for some transfer when we all know everybody wants some (Van Halen). Now, in the event our coach does not play them "again" like our last coach, that may make my decision a little more complicated to make:coffee:

:edit: Alen, you should do a poll right now about that. That way, if the time comes we can reference back to see who isn't keeping their word.

I wouldn't blame Secco if he don't complete the transfer for the above mentioned reasons, but still it will leave a bad taste in my mouth for being wind off by a lesser club + target confirmed 10 times all over the media, that he will do everything to play for us! We are not carrying things with the verve our name suggests.

Dago is a luxury that we may not or not afford to buy.
No one can blame the board if they dont have the necessary funds and the will to succumb into an unfavorable deal.

The board is to be blamed though, if they ignore our defensive issue for the third consecutive year and sacrifice starters, once again for back ups...

They should have kept the money they paid for Poulsen and add to the available money we have now, in order to buy a proper, Juve material/potential starter!

Or they could trade/sell Poulsen, or Tiago, achieving a refund and get a proper upgrade.
Wasting money and decreasing our value market, is when our board is to blame...
We may regret losing a great opportunity, but Dago certainly isnt that,
at least for that money...

Udinese is definitely walking a fine line here.

I like D'Agostino, I think Juve could really use him, but he's definitely not a 18-20m Euro player. 11-14m Euro is probably a fair market price for him. I think for 18-20m, its time to walk away.

Where Udinese is playing a dangerous game is this. D'Agostino has a very brief reputation of top play. A few bad performances in a row, and his value could plummet well below 11m. Plus, D'Agostino can't be too happy about being significantly overvalued to keep him at Udinese, and not at the club he wants, and he may react badly in the future.
