Has Conte said he would definitely be using a 4-4-2? If Marchisio-Pirlo-Melo can work i can't see why Inler won't work in Marchisio's position. Pirlo would play his best in a Ambrosini-Pirlo-Gattuso right? Is it all that different? We need Inler to be our David's engine wise.

You said "a natural DM like Sissoko". Sissoko is much more likely to go roaming all over the place than Melo is.
I can be wrong then, but I have the opposite idea.

I was thinking in a destroy and pass (simple/short/close) sort of player instead of one who likes to carry the ball ahead by his feet.

You never know exactly how players will interact with one another, but on paper our midfield would be better than AmbroTTuso.

the rest of the team is different. we don't have a kaka, sheva, seedorf off the bench, cafu, a top of his game inzaghi

IMO if a coach cannot adapt to new tactics he is not a good coach. If he tries it and it fails I hope he has the intelligence to change things up.
If we can offer Pirlo enough protection he will do well.

Not only protection, but movement, people he can pass to.

And that's what is worrying, unless he means two central midfielders in front of a holding midfielder.
:agree:

I think that with our possible midfield this would work best. n this would mean that the fullbacks need to be very good defensively as we could be caught really narrow without the ball.

Juve ask Udinese for Inler
Juventus director Beppe Marotta has apparently convinced Gokhan Inler to join and tomorrow will meet with Udinese.

It is a complex situation, as the Friulani had already agreed to sell the Swiss international to Napoli.

However, there are reports Inler’s wife rejected the idea of living in Naples and would prefer Turin.

With this in mind, Marotta hopes to convince Udinese to send their player to Juventus instead.

According to today’s newspapers in Italy, Udinese are holding out for €18m compared to the €15m offer.

It’s very likely that players will be included in an exchange deal, such as Frederik Sorensen, Manuel Giandonato, Albin Ekdal and Davide Lanzafame.

Other options include Sebastian Giovinco and Amauri, but are more outside bets.

The two clubs have other things to discuss, as Marco Motta, Simone Pepe and Fabio Quagliarella are still only on loan from Udinese.

The Gazzetta dello Sport suggests that, while there, Juventus will also enquire about Alexis Sanchez.
