That line-up is insanely good if we had Vidal/Naingollan instead of Khedira. And Cancelo/anyone at all in place of DeSciglio.

Beppe better be making some night moves. :beppe2:

Don't forget about Costa aswell, Replace MDS, Khedira and Costa and we got ourselves a CL competing team

I think Costa is pretty good. He had 14 goals-18 assists in 2 seasons at Bayern. 4700 minutes on the pitch. That's a goal or assist every 150 minutes. And he did pretty well in CL for them with 4 goals-6 assists in 1400 minutes.

Even his CL career on the whole is pretty good. 10 goals-13 assists in 3400 minutes. That's a goal or assist every 148 minutes.

I'd be pretty down with that here. I don't think he's some world beater, but he's definitely a top player and will suit Higuain well imo. Some people are going way overboard bashing the guy.

King Coman has 2 goals and 6 assists in 460 CL-Minutes. That's a goal or assist every 57 minutes or so.

Now check against which teams Costa scored.
Goals or assists against Juventus, Olympiacos, Sociedad, Dortmund, Arsenal...

No one is saying he's a world beater, not even Crimmy, but if you want to act like he's some scrub, be my guest. You'll be alongside guys like B81 and Andy being laughed at a year from now.

Goals scored against SC Braga, AS Rom, Dortmund, Real Sociedad, Bate Borisov, Dynamo Zagreb, Olympiacos Piräus, Rostov and Arsenal. Impressive.

You have your opinion, i have mine. And we very well brought him in to be a Star, and not as some ok-ish player.

There will come a time when the cautious pessimists will be laughing at the delusional optimists. I just hope that day doesn't arrive anytime soon :D

We loaned him with an option to buy. Of course we want him to be a star here. As with any player that we decide to spend a significant amount of money on (or have a buy option worth a significant amount).

While I don't think he is much better than Cuadrado, he does work better with a goal scorer like Higuain. He's better at playing with his teammates in attack, linking with them, assisting, creating chances for others. Cuadrado is highly skilled and I like him, but he's too erratic in attack, and far too individualistic at times and poor with making the right decision.

Costa improves these things and should help Higuain get more service in the box. Just how much more depends on how consistent he can be. If he plays like he did against us in the CL while providing multiple assists over the two legs and creating numerous chances, I'll be ecstatic. My guess is periods of blazing hot form where he looks world class and periods of very poor form. It's Allegri's job to try to make him more consistent.

Currently it's not "cautious pessimists", it's "delusional pessimists". Even a stopped clock is right twice a day. Of course if you bash every single transfer the club makes and predict doom each and every summer, eventually summers will come where you are right, babe.

So you will celebrate and laugh when we eventually have a bad season? :shifty:

Of course not! I'm actually mildly satisfied with our mercato thus far. Berna and Costa are quality additions. I'm still disappointed that we lost Bonucci and bought De Sciglio. I'm still hoping that we have Schick, Keita, and SMS lined up, either for this season, or the next. I'm reserving final judgement until the conclusion of the mercato, but a lack of a quality CM (fuck Matuidi) and competition @ RB leaves me slightly concerned.

Can one NOT rate Costa and still think we will again go far in the CL?

What does that make me? @Post Ironic
I have no problem with not rating Costa. More so with suggesting he's a scrub or just ok-ish player which is clearly not the case. He's a good player. How good? Hard to say. We will find out this year. I don't think he's the answer to our problems, but he should help Higuain.

Anyways, we shall see. I think he'll be a starter here, and have a mixed bag season. Good, but not great.

It's funny that you and I end up in the very same place from polar opposite beginnings. I agree with this entirely. :D

Yep. "those guys" who for some reason decided to pick on a player and bash him every chance they get. It's annoying as fuck. But since it's my favorite nazi offspring aka @DAiDEViL, I'll give him time to see the error of his ways :D

Truth is the guy hasn't done shit for us yet, hasn't even played an official game. At least wait until he fucks up AT Juventus so you can hate him. Otherwise it's just mere petulance.

Agree with you. Was joking with that Coman comparison.
Yeah we'll see, think he will have lots of games in starting XI, maybe not from the beginning, but i think he will leave Cuads behind him. At the latest in Spring he will fight with Berna for the fourth starting position in the offence. I think Dybala (if stays), Mandzu and Higuain will still play the most amount of minutes..
