True, but shits happen and hopefully they've learned from their mistake this time. Secco has plenty of time and the $$ this summer so there is no more excuses now....

Not for the amount we spent on Almiron+Andrade, but we could've signed him for the amount we spent on Tiago+Andrade+couple of millions.

And yes, i do think that such a thing was an option. It was adding more depth vs adding 1 expensive player. From today's point of view it was obviously a mistake, but back then we had a very thin squad and we needed many new faces. What our directors did was logical, even though time proved it wrong.
The young and expensive, and still kinda unproven, Ribery was indeed a bigger risk than the proven Tiago, Andrade or Iaquinta. As it turned out, risks should be taken sometimes, but i don't blame the management for the summer of 2007. Our situation was way too tough and complicated and they chose to play it safe.
