There is zero chance that Saun Wright Phillips will be a target for Secco. He hasn't even managed to prove himself as a consistent performer for a team in the premier league who is destined for mid table mediocrity. He has electrifying pace and bags of power in both feet but his distribution and finishing skills constantly let him and his team-mates down.

Even Downing would be a more useful signing, because he would at least guarantee a regular supply of decent crosses from the wing. Nothing is assured with Wright Phillips other than his enthusiasm and pace.

Getting back to the focus of this thread, as a whole...Ribery seems destined to leave Munich. As to where he will go, we will all have to wait till June to find out. I do see a lure to Juve for the scarred genius. Because two of the finest french players of the last 30 years have proved themselves as the world's best when wearing the bianconeri shirt. The attraction of following in the footsteps of former greats like Zidane and Platini goes some way, in my purist mind, of canceling out the financial incentives of joining Madrid, Inter or Manchester United. While I would prefer Ribery, to Diego or Silva, I will be content to see any of the trio arrive. Because they will give us what we are missing: creativity from the midfield. Silva and Diego are definite targets of our board. The only information I have read regarding Ribery's possible transfer to our beloved club appeared after when his agent, reacting to a poll of Juve fans, asserted that it was a possibility for Franck to join the club. Perhaps his interest will increase if we progress in the champions league and also maintain a decent challenge to Inter, in the Serie A, until the final whistle of the season. We basically need to be showing signs of progress, of needing just one vital ingredient to become once again one of the greatest sides in the world...

Ribery still remains a dream to me.

Not only because it would be hard to persuade ribery himself, when competing with Barca, Man U, or Real.

But also considering the fact, our Board, has done an inadequate job so far in getting star names.

The only star we got was Amauri, and he wasn't as big of a star as Ribery is now. So thats one big fish to catch.

I'm seriously just hoping we can manage either Diego or Silva, and I'm not sure our board can manage even that.

I would be heartbroken to hear Downing being signed, just like I was when I heard Poulsen was our signing instead of Xabi Alonso. Remember that saga?

(not that I'm terrible disappointed with Poulsen, but X. Alonso would have been the key difference between a loss and a win this season, with his great vision and passing, we surely would have had more points IMO)

I really couldnt see Downing wearing our shirt. But when the board or even secco for that matter stated that after the success with the Amauri signing he wants to invest in more world class players that just throws the Downing rumour down the drain. He aint class man! Ribery would be the ideal Neddy replacement. But i keep seeing some kind of disappointment down the road (as usual) And why does our transfers take so dam long to finalise?? while other clubs have it wrapped up before any other club could get a sniff.

Its becoming clear, Seven, that you are the unofficial forum spastic...Really, how does it feel to stray so uselessly from a serious discussion, and dive head first into schoolyard goading...I guess every forum has an attention seeking, retarded loser who seeks attention rather than constructive debate, and you take great pride in claiming that title. As with your childish determination to repeatedly suggest that my reference to Del Piero as Sandro equates to a total lack of knowledge about Juventus, Well Done, sweety pie...you consistently excel, as a virtual stool pigeon, craving the same kind of attention a retard on a crowded bus desires, through a weird, pitiful, instinct for nuisance...

The only aspect I haven't analyzed of the Ribery possibility is the guarantee that we could offer, which our main rivals perhaps coudn't offer, of a first team place. Although if Ronaldo the swine leaves Man U, he could fill that hole and make it his own...However, at Real or Barca, I don't think he would have the same assurances. German football is more similar to the English league than the Primera or Serie A. Its also where most of the money circulates, presently...Which is why we see players like Robinho at Man City. I know little about Francky Scars as a man, whether he seeks money more than fame...but for now I will continue to dream of his purchase and addition to our ranks. and if he does appear, we will hold onto him tight and never let go...Who else is after him*** Madrid, Barca, United**** If he goes to any of them instead of us, OK, if he goes to Inter...he must be hunted down and hung.

Indeed, you are probably correct, Fred...I guess I have just got annoyed with the kid. After a week or three of thoroughly enjoying these forums, the last two days I have grown increasingly irritated every time I have come on here, eager to see what the vets have replied to one of my long, drawn out posts, and found instead Seven's comments, which have nothing to do with what I have been writing, and everything to do with nuisance mongering...
