How soon after the server migration is done will we be able to see the site without having to change the host file? I don't have access to that at work, so I can't get on.

Depends on the DNS propagation to your office and the rules the IT guys set up for how often the routing tables update. Couple of days tops, most likely.

Apparently, it's here: c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts

This usually happens between 0-48 hours. For some people it might take an extra day but that's the normal speed.

This morning for example ut was connecting me to the old server but now it's switched over to the new

It didn't work for me by just adding the single line, Marty.

Only worked when I added all of these:

# 5.9.0.84 juventuz.org
# 5.9.0.84 www.juventuz.org
# 5.9.0.84 forum.juventuz.org

It took me half a day to figure this out.

Perhaps you should consider informing other users about this possibility via Twitter.

P.S. I have no idea why the site insists on making the second option an url.

Yeah you need to add each domain you wish to connect to

I was right, the hosts file on Mac (and Linux as well) is /etc/hosts
