FIRST OF ALL, I'M NOT UNDERESTIMATE TREZEGOL...I LOVE HIM..i know he is one of the our best player....but i'm talking about the current form...

can u tell me why micolli can't play in trezegol position...i think he also can score the goal....for me as long as he play in forward...he can be our striker...think about thuram, zambrotta n and di vaio position before this....player position can be manipulated depends on situation...but not too vary changes...

may be u can compare with lopez n recoba position in the last two matches in the serie a....from forward left/ att.mid....both of them become the striker..n they scored brilliantly....

or haven't you even noticed that he's been a lone up front in a wierd formation :rolleyes:

i know it's possible for players to take different roles, but you can't play two second strickers-type players even if you were in Mars!!

Zambrotta and others have the quality to play in different positions (i.e. he's not bad defensively....etc.)
but Miccoli's finishing skills is nowhere near Trez's. he's short, and his positioning isn't that good enough to play at the head of the team.

i know, it is possible, but then again, it's also possible to have Buffon play as an attacker!!

I'm afraid a more defensive 4-2-3-1 will leave Trezeguet lost in the blue. All in all, the 4-3-1-2 should and will definitely stay as our #1 formation. I think the 4-2-3-1 will be used in case of "emergency." But I believe we will see more than a little of it.

Ballack we be absolute perfect for this! .....if we could get rid of Camo. But as you know I don't like changes. I advocate the faithful 4-3-1-2.

I myself actually fancy the 4-2-3-1 formation, but as slack earlier pointed out, it is very sophisticated and would take alot of changes in our mentality and squad.

Firstly, I fine that Tacchinardi tends to bring out his best when playing as the lone holding/anchoring midfielder, so we would need him to try to adapt to this formation better than he has done so far, or simply find someone to replace him (which I would try to avoid).

Secondly, Trezeguet has struggled without Del Piero beside him and finds it hard to get into the game in this formation, thus the need to find a replacement, which would be an extremely big waste of talent on our part (referring to Trez), would come into play.

Slack pointed out that there are also more disadvantages concerning this formation, so I wont bother to waste my time going back through them..

Overall I think our 4-3-1-2 scheme is the best for this current team.

How can you even think of comparing Miccoli with Trezeguet? First of all, they play in two different positions, so saying that Miccoli is better than Trez at the moment really is fruitless and silly. And secondly, Trez is coming off of a lengthy time of absence due to injury, so to expect the best of him already is kind of over optimistic and unrealistic. Remember how long it took DP to get back to his best?

I was quite sure you knew my intent Ian. Your words were quite clear to me. That was intended towards some who after reading "I apologize" just assumed that I 'attacked' you.
Don't know why the word "bastard" contains such a degree of magnitude while people running around here aiming cuss words towards others aren't shocking at all.

We certainly are on good terms mate. Forgive me for not knowing you had a bad association with the word.

C_V, you have to consider that this is an international forum, memebers from different cultures or backgrounds might take it differently.

Just like when members of different cultures or backgrounds may mean it differently (w/o knowing the meaning of this english word varies around the world). "Bastard" isn't nearly a word of that sort as you portray it to be (to me or anyone else I know).

i would suggest that, but the problem is that Davids is not a holding midfielder, so it's hard for him to destribute the ball. all he does is get the ball.

That's why a player like Tacchi is needed with him.
