Doing so-so with my first save. Due to injuries and poor form lost title race and ended third place first season with Liverpool. Second season now and almost Christmas, we're in a secure third place but keep making it hard for ourselves when we have the chance to advance. Five points ahead of Stoke and Spurs while two and three points behind Arsenal and United. Managed to beat Barcelona and win the group in ECL, will be facing Milan and hopefully pass through the first knockout phase.
Pretty much only using a 4-1-2-2-1 formation this season. But this team is made of glass. Long-term injuries on Henderson, Emre Can, Grujic, Origi, Mane, Sturridge, Lallana, and so on, keeps messing everything up and my kids (including Moise Kean) aren't really ready to step up but are continuously forced to do so.
My biggest concern at the moment is Coutinho. He was a complete beast first season with 21 goals and 12 assists (no PKs or FK) in 29 games, he won a lot of matches on his own. This season he's a ghost! Two goals and one assist in 13 games, from having the average of 7.62 to 6.96 - and I have really no idea what to do. He is playing the exact same role and formation and so forth. I can understand that the opponents have learned how to defend against him but still, should offer a lot more than what he is doing. I have warned him twice and he was encouraged by the talks but there was no real effect. The only difference from last season is that Origi missed out almost all last season and instead Firmino or Sturridge played (depending on who was not injured) and both were used as false nines. This season Origi has been my main starter and done exceedingly well as a complete forward (support). Right now I am testing to play with Firmino instead to see if it can get Coutinho back on track. But if you have any advice please feel free to comment because I am not sure what to do.
My final concern, if anyone has played in Premier League, how does the FFP work? They keep warning me. The profit/loss margin is no worry, I am expected to make at least €200m profit but I had no idea about the salary part. Pepe and a few others are leaving in January to come closer to the allowed salary of 2.89m/week but I am still projected to have 3.01m/week. But how does it work? Can the allowance increase? Because my economy is well oiled, I have a transfer budget of 86m and a salary budget of 3.3m/week. I have Mignolet (valued 16m) and Markovic (valued 34m but on loan) both on transfer list and expect Mignolet to leave in January to reduce wages. With Mignolet leaving I have a squad (first team) of 20 players and an average salary about 35K/week. When I compare with others in the league I come out in fifth place on annual salary (125m) far off from the once above (e.g. Man City with 222m).
