Fred, I love you and all man but you always think you're right no matter what, makes me feel like slapping you sometimes.

Fred, I can't really say that Del Piero doesn't dive, but for these last two penalties he won, I believe he didn't dive. Especially the one against Lazio wasn't a dive.

All i'm saying is, don't make him out to be a complete angel. He's not.

You're right about the Lazio one, i just saw that one again. It was definitely not a dive. Still not so sure about todays one.

You can't possibly compare the two, there are at least 3 occasions where everyone saw Kaka diving, I mean without a doubt, and in one of his dives I remember him getting up and embarrassedly smiling at the ref :D

But here we are, debating whether DP dives or no.
Kaka does dive, Like 99.999 % of the worlds players. and no, DP isn't one of the 0.001% :D

As for these two penalties we got in the last 3 matches, I'm not even sure if it can be categorized as the refs helping the big teams.
I think it's more about Del Piero than Juve. Just look at the penalty we got against Lazio. Amauri fell like that, missing the ball, at least 20 times this season and he never won us a penalty. Before Del Piero came back from injury, we won only 1 penalty on more than 20 matches (Serie A+CL). Even now we don't play the ball in the box so we can't put ourselves in situations to win penalties, but Del Piero's reputation of an honest player and Italian legend won us those penalties.
Even if he played for Sampdoria he would have been given these penalties.
Intelligent players know how to make a mountain out of a molehill of a contact. This is not necessarily a dive, but how you exaggerate a contact. You remember the penalty kick France had in the last World Cup against Portugal? There was a slight contact between Henry and the defender but it shouldn't have normally made Henry fell. It's the different between the likes of Del Piero and ermmmm, Amauri.

You gotta understand us Fred, we've had a 17-year clean run FFS, don't wanna break it now :D
Haha, understandable, all fans are like that. But then thats why you have people like me in the forum, to offer perspective :p

Actually come to think of it, back to the old Zlatan - DP argument. Another difference between the two is that Ibrahimovic almost never dives, really something i admire about this player is that i have never seen him dive in my life. Even Juve fans should admit that much.

Too true. Never in his career. He never dove at all. Probably the most honest player in professional football. Even Capello mentioned this quality Zlatan posses.

Really?

But ya, i noticed it in todays game against Athletico, there were several instances where he easily could have made a meal out of contact and went for a dive, but he always chose to stay on his feet and fight for the ball

Speaking of Zlatan I remember during a Euro or something Koller was playing and I was thinking to myself "boy you'll never see him dive, I mean if he did who would believe that someone had brought down that Bigfoot?" Boy was I wrong.

I'm sure Zlatan has enough other character flaws to compensate :D

He is far too tall and strong to get away with going down easily, he would look ridiculous. Like English players when they try it :D
