As a manager he got his arse handed to him last week against Ittihad(KSA). Lost 6-2 in the semi finals of the Asian CL.

If not for that stupid injury in his best years, he was gonna be a European legend. Arsene Wenger adored him, Johan fuckin Cruijff was following him whenever Piksi went to play, not as a scout or in order to buy him, but just to watch him play.

The guy had more football knowledge in his dick than most of the players have in their brains.
While there are some truly great passes in that video, at the same time, you have to question the value of a few of these heel kicks when he's not even in the opponent's third.
What's the upside of playing your hand at deception when you're at the half-way line or when you're still 10m from the opponent's box with 8 defenders between you and the goal?
If I was his coach, I'd yell at him for half of those plays -- for being too cheeky where it didn't count, and potentially risking dangerous counterattacks if he missed or if his teammate wasn't expecting it.

Not if the player mastered the move, if he had amazing vision and if he was smart enough to do it only when he was sure it won't be intercepted, as it actually was the case with this guy who was an amazing passer.
Just take a look at 0:24 and how many options he has there. He can receive the ball and hold it by the line. Maybe win a throw in and then start a positional attack, or maybe hold it, turn around, pass it back, and then turn again and run forward, but lose precious 4-5 seconds meanwhile and allow the defense to organize. This way with a single move he starts a counter and is free to run forward.
Back-heel passing, if you're great at it, gives you many more passing options, and your teammates will always expect that pass if they know that you're a guy who does it often and can find them wherever they are.

You know, its funny, grown up with a few typically biased balkans who say their shit smells the best in the whole galaxy towards eachother. But what they (and their crazy fathers
) had in common was that they all hailed this dude, regardless of nationality bias, as the the one who was THE MAN (grudgingly complimented other "enemy" players too, but whole another thing with him), but was sadly hindered in his career to full on own the shit out of all.You reminded me of this goal:
