Mou: Carlo, Ibra and perfect calamari
Sunday 13 September, 2009
Jose Mourinho talks Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Juventus,
Carlo Ancelotti and calamari.
“He can never beat my record!”
It is no secret the two tacticians do not get along and so taking over at Stamford Bridge with a 100 per cent record so far this season was bound to spark controversy.
“He may have beaten my record of opening victories in the Premier League with Chelsea, but he can never beat my record. I won the title in England after 55 years with that club,” snapped the Special One.
Mourinho was asked to comment on last night's Juventus win at Lazio, which saw Stefano Mauri's goal controversially disallowed.
“I only saw the game up until that point, as there was a plate of calamari waiting for me,” insisted the Inter boss.
“It was a lovely dinner with my staff. I don't want to answer any questions about rivalry or hear any comments from the Juventus camp. Ask me something else or I'll leave.”
On Wednesday he will welcome Zlatan Ibrahimovic to San Siro in the Champions League, where the Barcelona striker expects a frosty reception from fans.
“I will welcome him with a big hug, but I can't know how the fans will react. I will hug him before kick-off, but for the next 90 minutes I don't even want to know his name.
“We will be opponents, but I do not feel betrayed. Thanks to him we are the reigning champions of Italy.”
The Swede scored for Barcelona this weekend and Mourinho raised eyebrows when he declared Samuel Eto'o is the best forward in football.
“I cannot forget a player like Ibra, but I always say the players in my team are the best in the world. I'm happy he is doing well in Spain, but I am above all happy with my strikers.”
