I don't know Osman i see Lazio as a pretty great side this season. They have probably one of the best fullbacks in the league (Kolarov + Lichtsteiner), quality midfielders like Matuzalém, Foggia and others plus Pandev and zarate in the attack.

And most importantly Ballardini as their coach. I've been impressed with with what he did in Palermo last season. IMO Palermo and Genoa played the best football in serie A last season.

Watching Roma playing today i got the impression that there is something not right with their team.

If i had to make a prediction i would say lazio will have a better season than Roma this year.

You have a good point in Ballardini, he might be rather excellent influence, was real good with Cagliari and Palermo. But they still are a bit unbalanced side, good fullbacks, but weak CBs, easily turned upside down (if they gotten Lugano different thing). They have excellent attack, but their midfield, even if with some good players, is bit too weak defensively ( though Roma's starting 11 are simply better, with their key players, CBs, De Rossi, Pizzaro, attack, they have double of Lazio's salary budget for a reason, IMO they will still be above Lazio and the rest of the mid table teams).

They suffered quite alot of inconsistency due to their squads flaws. But lets see how the Ballardini factor will be, Rossi wasnt too good building a solid defence. But they will lose their midfield General Ledesma, De Silvestri (though he doesnt matter much), and a quite excellent player in Pandev, Lotito (who is most hilarious president around) have gotten tired of their "mercenary" ways and have been givent the cold treatment (said he will nail them to the bench  ) and shutting them out.

Pandev threatend to sue, and Lotito said this: "I wait for the telegram. Then I will start a real war."

P.s Lazio are cruising to Victory right now in Europa League, 3-0.

Looks like Yahoo news is showing their supreme Serie A knowledge... they even scooped the rest of the sporting world by announcing Jose Mourinho as Juventus' new coach:

Inter favorites, but European success crucial

MILAN (AP)—The upcoming season is crucial for Italian soccer at home and on the international front.

With a World Cup defense looming at the end of the season, national coach Marcello Lippi hopes the Italian league will make the world take notice before the tournament begin in South Africa.

Defending champion Inter Milan is going for a fifth straight title and is the team to beat. Juventus, coached by Jose Mourinho, appears the strongest rival.

So do you think he's worth more or less? And can you be less ambiguous?
How do you determine a player's "true" market value?
There's no way I'd pay £13m for him anyway. I think he's overrated and he has problems with injuries.
I'd think more. Very underrated imo. Anyways, it seems like he's rejected both Inter and Manure so that'll always make me like the player more lol.

Cassano: 'I'm Messi, but crazy...'
Friday 21 August, 2009

The Sampdoria starlet is well known for his gregarious approach to life and sport, which can also spill out into temper tantrums that have wrecked his career at Roma and Real Madrid.

“If I had [teammate Angelo] Palombo’s brain, then in the whole world the only one who could beat me would be Leo Messi. He is the greatest.

“Unfortunately I cannot change my crazy head and after all these years not even my mother knows what’s going on in there.”

This is also the main reason why Cassano has been left out of the Italy squad, but he laughed it off by referencing the recent row between Lippi and Inter boss Mourinho.

“I am the only one who can get those two to agree on something – neither of them want me! I’d be happy even if Lippi called me at the last minute.

“I’d love to play for the Nazionale and have always been open to it. When Italy play, I suffer too as I watch and experience it all.

“I have never had the chance to talk to Lippi, but I have never had problems with him. His decisions are dictated by his own reasons and they must be respect. What else can I say?”

Yet this wild child persona is also what gives FantAntonio is incredible creativity and talent.

“I need to play as far up the field as possible. They need to give me the ball and then I’ll invent something, depending on what goes through my mind at that moment.”

Last season Genoa won both derbies for the first time in decades and finished in fifth place, humiliating their local rivals.

“Samp have lost a strong defender like [Hugo] Campagnaro, but we are targeting the top half of the table and hope to overcome tough times with hard work and a bit of luck.

“Last year we lost two derbies and gave someone weaker than us the opportunity to enjoy something after 10 years of failure…”

Today Inter President Massimo Moratti confirmed he has always admired Cassano, but never actually entered negotiations to sign him.

“I thank Moratti for his kind words, but I have always said I wanted to stay at Sampdoria. I’m happy here and do not feel pegged in by the club, I’m not interested in winning or even playing in the Champions League.

“All I care about is making the fans happy and proving in every game that I am a great player.”

LOL this awesome mofo is too funny, hehe. And call me crazy, and it may not make sense because it isnt a priority, but I hope we sign him next season.
