And by the way one question,

do you guys think that Serie A is falling apart slowly? I mean, both EPL and La Liga spend so much more money...we spent 40mln so far and not to mention how Real and how will Chelsea and probably Manure continue spending more than 100mln punds a year.

Italy to lose 1 CL spot to Germans soon?
nah i think we will soon see a resurgence of Italian teams in european competitions, everything comes in cycles and both la liga and EPL teams are spending money like a drunk russian, just like we used to do. eventually things will collapse, this sort of spending cannot go on forever. to begin with the decline will be limited but eventually it will catch up with the top teams also.
Reals spending will bring them short-term success but will eventually blow up in their faces

Actually, Dule is right. If the Germans win 3 points more than Italy this year, then in season 2010/2011, Germany will take the 3rd spot over Italy on UEFA Coefficients.

It's a really complicated way of counting the points and setting the table so i won't go into details here.
I'll just tell you that Italy is in very tricky position and the Germans are running strongly from behind.

The results from the last 5 seasons count. In the last 4 seasons Italy did better than Germany in 2005/06 and 2006/07, but in 2007/08 and 2008/09 Germany won more points. So now in the 5th season (2009/2010) if the Germans do better again, then Italy will almost surely lose the 3rd place.

The difference was made in UEFA Cup. The wins and the draws bring just as many points both in UEFA Cup and CL, but in UEFA Cup the German teams were winning lots of points while the Italian teams were doing bad. In CL both were doing bad.

The president of the Italian FA was right few weeks ago when he asked the Italian teams to always play for the win this season and not to calculate. He knows that the 3rd place is at stake and he knows that the Italian teams must bring as many points possible.

Perez will make his own league called the spending champions.

I am not sure these cycles end what some talk about, sure italian teams will rise again sooner or later, but epl will continue to spend (their league policy is helping it, all teams get sponsor money). And Real new cycle just started and they are getting a lot back with the shirt sales of Kakà and Ronaldo.

Might be but who knows if it's going to stop now. If they win something this season it will just continue and make all this even worse and we'll see 150mln euros transfers every other day. They have many stars and they can sell always sell Drogba, Lampard, Terry, Fabregas, Ramos or even Messi which would make a turn-over and we'd see "crazy Russian thing" again. Who can we sell? There's just Ibrahimovic and no one else.

No, Alen talked about the 3-rd spot, we always come first or second. Let Milan and Fiorentina worry about that.
It's not just that but it's that league is falling apart. No one cares that much now and all the other leagues are taking their place on the top so it does affect us.

Yeah well I remember I heard about it last season but everyone said that Italy won't lose it and now it's a close-call. It's not just about spending so much money but Italy as a whole league can't do anything in CL/UEFA cup. They all laugh at EPL (which can tear apart yet again but still) that humiliates Italy every single year.

Milan is spending less, Inter will spend just if they sell Ibra (talking about the big money) while we're almost done with mercato (50mln). Other clubs are strong too but the numbers are small. Roma lost it so they'll play in UEFA and seeing their team I'd say they'll finish 5th or below next season. Sensi won't sell the club (despite the huge debts and even though they had a buyer) so now they have to sell their players yet again so they could buy someone. Viola can't compete in CL whatsoever and same goes for Genoa. When you look at EPL they look much stronger. La Liga might be weaker but they still have crazy Real and Barcelona and clubs like Sevilla that can probably eat Viola. Germany doesn't have so many strong teams but their job isn't any worse than Italy's. Foreign owners are the only solution? I doubt there'd be some Italian owner who would spend as much as some from USA, Russia or Saudi Arabia.

Perez will make his own league called the spending champions.
and they will eb banned from all UEFA and FIFA competitions

@ Dusan-everybody in Calcio thought taht the spending would go on forever, Lazio,Fiorentina, etc were doing exactly what the mid table EPl clubs are doing now...it is only a matter of time before the whole house of cards falls down

I agree with you on that one, if we look at things a bit closely the difference is not that huge or as its made out to be. The gap is actually closing down imo. We came really close while our team wasn't even close to those in europe's elite, Roma went out on penalties while they have half a team that is already rubbish, and Inter well they're inter but they came up against a team much better than most.

A few years ago the romans were getting thrashed 7 or something and inter couldn't even make it past valencia.

However the main issue is that there isn't as much strengthing across the board for next season and the Germans do pose a real threat. These teams going on with their business in the right way and they could do better than they did before even in the CL.

Perez is one smart ma'fucker Rob,by bringing in those top players he'll certainly recoup the money spent but the biggest thing he has done was brought much need prestige to fans & more importantly potential signings.Honestly which player could resist playing alongside Kaka & Ronaldo?
