That's a good question. Here is another one:
If Pirlo is worth 18m eur is D'Agostino worth 20m eur?
Sure, there is a 3 year difference and Pirlo didn't play well in the last 2 seasons, but still, one is Andrea Pirlo, one of the best and most influental players in teams that won the world cup and the CL (twice), while the other one was a no-one until yesterday.
I really like D'Agostino, but he was so overvalued by Udinese that it made absolutely no sense to concider bying him. Imo 12m eur was a fair price for him. 14m eur was the maximum we could overpay. Everything above that is a pure robbery. The guy has quality and very good playmaking skills. But when you're 27 and all you have behind you is one single season in a mid-table team, then you can't be sold for 20 fuckin' million euro. Not even close.

He's earning around 5.5mln euros/year if I'm not mistaken.

I agree (in getting him, not necessarily the price) Even if he is old (29-30?), he is Pirlo, IMO main reason he regressed in last couple of years is because Milan have zero movement, a player like him gets stuck in a rut when he has a mobile team around him giving options. But zeeero chance of it happening And not much to regret due his age even if a genius.

Nah, Cronios is right, we are really neglecting to invest in our defense as usual. We might get an RB, but nothing else will happen. There is no getting by the fact they seriously dont want to invest in defence, for 3rd year running, except Andrade, everyone else have been mediocre free signings or outcast like Legro suprising, or Chiellini taking a leap in quality in an unexpected position (which he was tried in due to injuries).
Been 3 years of neglecting to fix the defence or give it quality (the mercato is still open, but we will sign an RB at best prolly), at first it was understandable because it was hard to entice players. But by now its evident average free signings is main way add to our defence. They really havent shown any sign in investing in the defence with much needed quality, but mainly just quantity.
