Real give up on Maicon

Wednesday 8 July, 2009

Real Madrid transfer guru Jorge Valdano has ruled out a bid for Inter full-back Douglas Maicon because he is “too expensive.”

The Brazilian stated he wanted to move to the Merengues this summer, but the Nerazzurri slapped a £35m price-tag on him.

“We will not make that offer, as we already have Sergio Ramos in that position and he has nothing to envy Maicon,” commented director general Valdano on Radio Marca.

The Spaniards have swooped for a series of stars this summer, including Kaka, Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema, but Valdano denied Arsenal’s Cesc Fabregas would be next.

“He is an attacking player with some similar characteristics to Kaka. We are looking for a more defensive midfielder to place alongside Diarra.”

Palermo is pretty close to signing argentinian "Javier Pastore" playing right now in Huracan.

Watched a game last month for Huracan against san Lorenzo and i got to say Pastore really looked good in that game (heard that game's performance wasn't he's best though) but still the guy looked pretty promising talent.

He's moves, skills and vision reminds me of Kaka alot, but just the other day i was reading about him and learned that he's called the new Kaka (hate those names but in this case he's pretty similar player).

Certainly gonna watch more palermo games next season......

i don't know the individual contract details for those players but i would assume that certain names will not be on that list come next summer. the only players i see staying long term are stank, zanetti and motta.

Ibra is United target

Thursday 9 July, 2009

According to the Daily Mirror, Sir Alex Ferguson is planning to present an important offer to Inter for their star man Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Manchester United must recover following the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo and Carlos Tevez. The signings of Antonio Valencia and Michael Owen have not fully satisfied their needs.

Ibrahimovic would then be the perfect man to excite the fans and provide Sir Alex with another world class star.

Inter of course will object to that as they try to keep the Swede at San Siro for at least one more year.

The initial offer coming from Manchester will be around £30m but it is expected to rise significantly.

The Nerazzurri have already announced their player isn’t worth less than Kaka so an offer of around £55m could tempt them.

However, they will probably negotiate the sort of deal Ferguson used to keep Ronaldo at Old Trafford last term.

The Beneamata will set a release clause as long as the striker stays with them until June 2010.

At that stage anyone, apart from Italian clubs, could come in and get the former Juventus ace. Manchester United won’t be the only side interested though as their local rivals Manchester City will enter the auction as well as Chelsea and Barcelona.
