Some smart transfer business from both teams.

Especially from merda's side Alen, some of their best players this season have come on a free transfer Ceasar, Cambiasso and Pandev. While the price they bought Maicon for is just exceptional.

Gomez is not a starter, put Müller in.
It doesn't matter. Switch them however you like, the final numbers will be the same.
But yeah, I forgot that Muller is a starter which makes the money Inter and Bayern paid for their starting XI (22 players) almost as much as what Real paid only for Ronaldo :D

When they talked about transfer details it was 45-49mln or whatever + Eto'o.

Nobody has mentioned his value because nobody can know that. If he had 1 year in his contract it can only mean that they can get much less for him. Back then he was a great striker that top clubs wanted and his value was over 30mln

Yeah, and it's why Real is the worst club ever.

Even if you don't mention Ronaldo because he's good. Try it with choker Kaka who was payed over 70mln.

But it has nothing to do with how much was Eto'o really worth. His realistic price was much bigger than 20m eur.

But when you buy players, in order to have all the financial books written by the rules, you must include a number for every transfer. So Barca and Inter agreed on ~50m eur +Eto'o for Ibra and in the books they registered Eto'o as a 20m eur worth transfer and Ibra as ~70m (I think 69m eur) worth transfer.

Yeah, Real are the new Inter when it comes to transfers, although Real at least won something when they splashed the cash (3 CL titles) and stand a strong chance to win something in the future with the cash they splashed last summer.

Barca is close to Real, imo. Barca have an amazing youth school, but when it comes to transfers they suck.
In the 2009 summer they splashed 92.5m eur+ Eto'o to bring Maxwell, Chygrinsky, Ibrahimovic and Keirrison.

Henry for 24m eur, Milito for 20m eur and Alves for 35m eur weren't some master-pieces either.

Moggi is banned for life from football. In Italy, that is... :xfinger:

They won only because they can do so in La Liga. For me that is the weakest competition in Europe when it comes to top leagues.

Real stands nothing. They won't learn anything as they are pulling transfers to sell jerseys and not win any major titles. You love stats, look at the numbers for the past 3 years when it comes to transfers. You'll be amazed...and what for, 3 trophies and a huge disappointment in Europe from one year to another. Real will never go for a player that could suit them, but for those who people like. Don't be surprised to see Pato there (even if they don't need him). I expect another big market for them and they will not achieve anything in Europe, yet again. Same with Milan, they will keep buying trash players.

Real is no.1 when it comes to stupid transfer market. They sold Robben and Sneijder and bought crap. The history will repeat until some big revolutions happens and they realize that it's not about money and tours over Asia and US but football and some actual strategy.

Barca surely did overpay for many players. Chygrinsky was a disaster transfer. Alves was well worth it IMO as he was a known RB and second best in the World. If they decide to sell him now they'll get more so it was a good move. Henry was a legend and it's not like he was useless for them. While on the other hand they won everything last year. Everything, Real choked against weak Liverpool. In fact it was a humiliation there. There lyes the difference. Even if Real wins La Liga this, or even next season...it's all they can do.

They all pull shitty moves, and so do we. We're probably in the top 4 of that table.

Well yeah, Real holds the first place, but Barcelona are very close. Their best players come from the youth team but if you take a look how they are buying, you'll be surprised how many of those players they bought for big money flopped there.

Here (transfers from 2006 till 2009):

    1. Ibrahimovic 49m eur+ Eto'o
    2. Dani Alves 35m eur
    3. Chygrinsky 25m eur
    4. Henry 24m eur
    5. Milito 20m eur
    6. Caceres 16.5m eur
    7. Keita 16.2m eur
    8. Hleb 15m eur
    9. Abidal 15m eur
    10. Keirrison 14m eur
    11. Zambrotta 14m eur
    12. Guðjohnsen 12m eur
    13. Yaya Toure 9m eur
    14. Henrique 8m eur
    15. Thuram 5m eur
    16. Maxwell 4.5m eur
    17. Pique 0.5m eur

Apart from Pique (and maybe Yaya), none of the others were great transfers (look at Inter's starting XI in one of my previous posts).
Alves was overpaid. Even Maicon who is twice the player Alves will ever be doesn't cost 35m eur. Henry was overpaid considering his age, Zlatan was overpaid and most of the others were real flops.
Barca's quality/transfer ratio is imo even worse than Real's.
But Barca have the best youth school in the world and they can somehow allow making awful transfers.

I must say I disagree when it comes to Alves. And as for Maicon, his price is above 30mln now. If he goes to Chelsea it will be some crazy money. I wouldn't say he's twice the player but Maicon is better. Still, Alves is second best RB in the world. He's not great in defense, but his aggression makes him look good. Also, Abidal was a decent transfer. Maxwell is a good back up while I see why they payed so much for Henry.

But yeah, it's not like I don't see your point, they pull many awful moves.

Like I said, stupid transfers, but they won everything in one year. But Real, stupid transfers, and they still fight for the first place and disappear in Europe. It's where it's difference. Youth school or not, they are better. You can't watch only La Liga and laugh at Barca. Like you pointed out Inter and Bayern, try to do the same with Real M. and see their achievements. That stuff can only make you laugh. Maybe not you, but it sure makes me giggle while on the other hand I bow to Porto, Lyon and Udinese.
