That could work both ways. Nick is blasting Rooney for not scoring a lot yet he is defending Amauri who never scores.

Taking Goals away(which rooney is by far better at), if you compare both players, Rooney is better in everything about the game.

PS: I blasted Amauri for his uselessness on the pitch more than his goal record. His goal record is shameful but what makes him a bad player is that he can't pass, he can't cross, he can't shoot, he can't dribble, he can't run except like a turtle, he causes no troubles to defenses except from set pieces (and even chiellini has become better at that), his vision is terrible, his link up play is terrible, his positioning is terrible. HE IS TERRIBLE IN EVERY POSSIBLE WAY.

get the opposites of the last paragraph and you'll have rooney.
Defoe 11

Rooney 7

No answer?

And then there's Brian Ching.
But he's not even good holding up the ball. Doesn't even do his own job.

Did you even watch Juventus last season? I don't think you did, because if so, you would have said Amauri can shoot, he can dribble (not with finesse, just with power, same as Pigface Rooney), and most importantly HE DOES cause trouble for the defense because of his presence and power, drawing defenders away with him, opening space by holding up the ball. He STILL holds up the ball well today, but isn't in the same form as he was the first half of last season.

So no, your post is blatantly wrong regarding Amauri's career, and this is not a contest between Amauri and Rooney because the latter is certainly better, but still not world class. I suggest you re-read the justified praise Amauri received last year, google target man in football, google class is permanent form is temporary, and lay off the Premiership ecstasy.

I do know the top scorers, my bro had defoe on his fantasy team which got me screwed big time.
You forgot to mention that bent has 9 goals so he too is more worthy of a spot in the national team and he too is a better player.
Also, You being English does not mean your opinions are right & mine wrong. The world cup is not that far and we'll see which players have the starting spots in the English team. So far Rooney is the regular. Heskey, Defoe, C.Cole and crouch rotate. We'll see whether Capello thinks they are better than him like you do or not.

Also, Recall that Defoe scored all 11 goals in 5 games. 5 goals last match alone (you wouldn't bragging 2 days ago ), 3 goals against Hull and a three 1's.
Rooney scored his 7 goals in six matches.

Further, Rooney has been selected as Man of the match in 5 matches in the EPL. Fletcher was MOM once only, Giggs too. That tells you that Men of matches aren't decided by goal tally alone as Defoe has been MOM twice. C.Cole has never been MOM so far.

HAHAHA Rooney would be insulted if you compare his dribbling to Amauri. Let alone his Power.
Amauri Doesn't hold up the ball well.. even crouch would be better at that.

Tell me something, do you too judge a striker based on his goal scoring only?
I want to know how you guys think about this.. is a striker a goal machine ONLY?

Of course there are variables but MOM in general is poor ammo for an argument IMO
Sure, but its more than enough to refute a claim about fletcher being the most important player in UTD over the years.

Also, i jumped into this conversation when he claimed that our starting 11 are better than Chelsea's. He is yet to support that claim. unless drogba, lampard, essien, ballack, deco, terry, cole, etc are over rated and not world class too.

Why would someone who judges only through goals scored defend Amauri?
That was his claim. i was checking if you guys agree with him.. you never pointed it out. You guys were on his side no matter what he said so i assumed you agreed. Apparently some people do still have some sense in them.

Tell me then Kyle, is Defoe better than Rooney?
&
Is Rooney a world class player?
