He hasn't forgotten his roots, he still has the same friends, visits Algeria from time to time and he's still a Muslim . He didn't go all Anelka with the money and fame (btw Anelka is over that ever since he went to Mail a couple of years ago and got in touch with his roots).
shite, never knew that  i thot he was jewish :embarass:

He's very shy about his personal life but one time he said he's a "non practicing muslim". Whatever that means. But all these years he's tried desperately to avoid getting into political issues, be a spokesman for immigrants etc. So that's probably the reason.

But at the moment Camoranesi's form has won him the shirt, and we'll see if he can handle the pressure of the grand stage. I think he can.

Camoranesi's form as compared to Fiore's form last year? Or last two years? If that's what you are comparing, Camo should be keeping the bench warm for Fiore ;)

As regards to yesterday's performance, if you had the feelings Fiore aparently has about the whole issue, how full-heartedly would you play if you came in as a sub yet again?

As for Del Piero - neither Denmark, Sweden, Bulgaria, England, Croatia, Switzerland, Greece, Russia, Czech, Latvia, nor Germany have a single player that has the footballing skills of Del Piero. That is why he is not on the bench.

Like what he showed yesterday against Denmark?

This is the "blindest" post i have ever seen on the forums :D ;)

It's not thát wrong, but dare I say that there's a lacking in caracter? I just know that if I were Zidan I wouldn't play for France, France already has soo many good players, it would be soo much better to play for Algeria and really help them out. Yes, France did him a lot of good, but he could give some of that goodness back to it's roots.
You wouldnt play for the nation you feel is yours, you pay your tax to and your kids are gonna grow up in perhaps? (not that the last part works for zidane but you know what im saying)

Were you are born is important, but nationality isnt just were you are born.

Better for Zidane to play for Algeria? Are you serious? He wouldnt appear in any friendly games, Algeria are never going to qualify for any tournament and he might make 6 caps his whole career. Like George Best we wouldnt have seen him on the international stage. Or like Ryan Giggs, who played for England U21s but choose Wales because his parents were from Wales. Now England dont have a left winger :D

Camoranesi playing for Italy is the extreme end. But the Italians always abuse these things so they really have a right to start complaining now? Yes its the Azzurri, but look at YOUR national league. Any foreign player remotely connected with Italian desent gets a national passport and eliminates the foreigner rulings. Kind works both ways only this time you dont want to swallow it.

yes, Camo was quite good - if you can name any performance good shown yesterday :)
What game did you watch? Camo received the lowest marks in ALL Italian sports papers today. Incomplete passing, no mobility, running without a vision and blindly clearing the ball.
This mentality of comparing a sub's performance to a player who played 65+ minutes is faulty.

How can you begin to say he deserves mention with Zambrotta, Cannavaro, Nesta and Buffon??

What the fock did he do all game besides run like a blind man??

Incubo, i think canna was undoubtedly the man of the match and deserves special praise, followed by zambro, nesta and gigi. Camo doesnt feature in that list, but he definitely did a lot more running than Perotta and Zanetti to his credit. So all though not quite the best player on the field, his contributions werent as hapless as theyre being made out to be.

At least Perrotta-Zanetti did nothing .. Camo ended up making errors and giving away the ball IN ADDITION to doing sweet fvck all. He just seemed lost, out of place and dis-oriented half the time.
I think one journalist put it best saying "the Juve winger looked out of his depth, barely involved".

Haha couldn't agree more. Camo was just horrifying to watch. The best scenario : One of the midfielders passed camo the ball... and he moves in left right and whoops lost the ball, oh dear, there goes whatever hope that's left of Italy creating and scoring a goal

Bloody hell

My MOTM ratings :
1. Cannavaro
2. Buffon ( his saves were crucial)
3. Zambro
4. Nesta

Zambro gets higher credit because he didn't fok up his defending and actually tried to bring something into the game attacking-wise. Nesta defended well, as usual.

Well, he was involved. I think Camoranesi just needs to play the ball quicker, and he would do just fine. He seems to like holding on to the ball for long periods of time, dribbling past whoever he can. Maybe he can get around one or two, but certainly not three defenders. He needs to play with more urgency to pass the ball. And "Tootie" needs to stop fvcking around and pass the ball to the open man, not just through to Vieri.

I don't know what you mean by "blindest post". Do you deny Del Piero's footballing skills that the world, except for you, has seen since 1992? You disagree with me because Del Piero did nothing over 60 minutes against Denmark? Well then, I guess Italy is not a good footballing nation and Totti is not world class - based upon the one game played yesterday. This is your reasoning.

We really didn't need these kind of comment from Fiore, the Azzuri are a team, they need to stay united and get back on to their winning ways after a disappointing display against Denmark...

These comments won't help.....

The timing (which was BEFORE the match by the way) may have been off as the time to voice these oppositions already passed. However, he has a strong and correct point.
I think the team is far from united for many reasons...Trap's inability to bring them together: there have been 'clicks' of players in this team since 2002 as Totti-Vieri-Inzaghi had a bond with very little communication with Del Piero. The lack of communication between Totti-DP was very obvious yesterday as was the lack of chemistry and team work.
