Wtf does mean shit in football have to do with this? They are member states and the fairest system is equal representation for its members, one vote per member.

Its not a perfect system, has its flaws, but its the only one that makes sense. What system do you suggest? Every random western footie fan complains about the current system in the same way when these elections come up, but any of the possible alternatives would have been criticized more.For example if votes weren't one per country one vote it would likely have been set up so the old home countries (UK) and Europe would fully and solely dictate things. Or some other similar set-up, how long til things fall apart then after that would have been abused and shown to be unfair?

Europe and South America probably provide like 80% of football money so it only makes sense for them to dictate things.

Another idea is to set up vote power according to population, kind of like EU used to have the treaty of Nice system -> http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Treaty_of_Nice. It's pretty ridiculous that vote of Samoa Islands is equal to vote of Italy, China or USA.

Voting needs to be based on FIFA ranking (in modified form). If countries have no business with WC participation they shouldn't be as decisive on it as five time world champions FFS

Africa and asia arent abusing football, they are voting for someone that protects their interests, thats all. They get 4-5 spots in the world cup and thats all, football its still pretty much extremely and heavily run by the 1st world. Who do you think runs these big bussinesses that prop up Blatter and FIFA?

Also Ali got 70+ votes. UEFA has 54 members. Why do you assume some UEFA countries voted for Blatter?

They dont release the votes for them officially (yet) but read some Uefa members did, in particular besides Russia/EE countries, Spain for sure apparently, and perhaps France.



Even bigger question, why is Ali a viable candidate? Blatter is a disastrous joke, but whats the change with Ali?

Anyway this system will be corrupted either way. I would just rather see the power in hands of actual football countries instead of a 100+ countries with no football history or relevance.

I don't know if Ali is any better (probably not much). It's just about cutting the head of the dragon.
