It's free.

You can use your own money to buy packages (a package of players and cards), but that's not necessary at all unless you don't like building your team up slowly.

You can also buy packages for in-game coins. You get in game coins when you play games and win tournaments. You can use in game coins on packages, players or cards (could be fitness, contracts etc.)
I haven't used money on FUT, and I started a month ago or so. You can see my team a few posts up.

Basically, FUT is the shit. By far the best kind of Fifa.

You can play against friends online with FUT teams though. And it's not really a big problem adjusting to playing real teams. At least not for me.

Played FIFA 13 for the first time this weekend, I love the Juve rating Vidal with an 87 If I recall correctly.

Destroyed my friend, 6-1, in the first match. Mirko hat trick . He's a big Tottenham fan for some reason.

So he's always playing with Tottenham and I play with Juve.
